We are in Serbia and we are providing data center services for other countries, such as Montenegro, Bosnia, and Hercegovina. We are using this solution as an ERP at the moment. This covers all of our business processes, this includes sales, distribution, data management, finance, and compliance…

One of the most valuable features of WebLogic Suite is its integration with JMS services and queue services. We are planning to migrate to an API-based application structure. We use the JMS and queue mechanism, requiring optimization to handle performance challenges related to upscaling load, application load, and end-user demands. Continuous monitoring and evaluation are necessary to optimize MQs, JMS, and JVM elements related to WebLogic Suite.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"They integrated it with the SAP router."
"From the use of this solution, we have been able to establish better processes and have greater management of our company."
"Workflow functionality and internal portal capabilities are the most important features."
"The technical support is good."
"Internal workflow approval around ESS and MSS leave days, capex approval as well as internal communication to the business have improved the way my organization functions."
"On the whole, I would say Oracle is far better, it more superior to the IBM product."
"A valuable feature is its integration with Oracle Database."
"WebLogic is and has always been a leading application development platform even going back to the BEA days, so some of the great features that WebLogic provides is scalability, the ability to build very robust applications that can support many simultaneous transactions, many users and the ironclad and robust enough to be enterprise level as well as user facing for the broader public community."
"It's very stable, can handle a lot of database storage and repositories, and is really the backbone of a lot of our systems that we use for our federal customers."
"It integrates well with other solutions."
"The High Availability and high performance provide a solid foundation for application hosting."
"The transaction handling of WebLogic and the way it is designed is excellent."
"I think that the best feature of WebLogic, as far as middleware goes, is that it's very license-friendly."

Cons

"Due to our business, some setups were very complex."
"The user interface could be improved by making it more user-friendly."
"The cost of this solution is high."
"We encountered stability issues, especially on external functionality around its RFP capabilities."
"Our customers expect that a page will open within one second, and I doubt this will happen. Also, opening documentation takes time. Fixing this will help the customer and help to meet their expectations."
"External portal functionality with suppliers and customers needs improvement."
"There is no need for improvement with WebLogic Suite, although its coherence is a bit more complicated."
"For improvement, I think the area of clusters are sometimes problematic and we do have issues around that."
"WebLogic requires a person with coding knowledge for easy configuration and quick integrations."
"Deployment and integration should be simplified."
"I rate the scalability of WebLogic Suite an eight out of ten."
"This solution would benefit from the inclusion of a ripple start function for clusters."
"I noticed a few areas for improvement in WebLogic Suite. If you use the pure play higher-availability features, then yes, it can be switched over to the other system from the high-availability point of view, but that comes with a certain price. If you prefer simpler high-availability, that requires manual intervention. I'd also recommend a tuning feature in WebLogic Suite because it's not self-tuning, and this means you need thorough expertise to do the tuning and leverage the best benefit out of it. If Oracle makes WebLogic Suite automated or self-driven, then it becomes a wonderful product, similar to what Oracle did for the Autonomous Database which is self-driven or has an autonomous operating system. If automation is added in the next release of the solution, combined with more affordable pricing, though as a technical person, I know how much goes into having automation as a feature, and it could be difficult to lower the price, but if Oracle can do it, then that would make WebLogic Suite better."
"Because it's in the middleware layer, I would like to see better scalability for scaling up. Also, they should provide sizing guidelines so that customers can take it and deploy it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"SAP is not for every business. It depends on what is required. SAP is always going to be expensive."
"The cost of this solution is high."
"Because India is so competitive in the IT world, people will start to move away from SAP's pricing because they have a market monopoly. Soon, they will start losing the monopoly part to open source and other things. I don't think their monopoly will run for more than three to four years because people are getting away from these monopolies."
"There is a license required for this solution and the price could be reduced."
"Technical support is very costly."
"Scaling is costly."
"The cost of the WebLogic Suite license is a bit high."
"The product comes bundled with Oracle Premier Support."
