Less expensive than some competing solutions, but it's hard to handle logistics management at scale
We're having problems with logistics and warehouse management, and we don't know if we have the right module from Penta. When shipments come into our warehouse, they have to plug it into the Penta system and find the right place to store them. They have to go through the same process on the way out. Our production department has to do the same thing each time to prepare the material for production and get the goods out of the store. It takes a lot of time. I don't know if there are any automated solutions for it. We also do internal manufacturing orders from the German branch of our company. We send an order to the manufacturing department for every car and they have to enter each individual order into the system. The production manager spends so much time organizing this task.

Provides efficiency for small businesses, but requires costly add-ons for broader capabilities
I am currently using SAP products but not primarily selling SAP. Regarding real-time data processing capabilities, it is partially helpful for decision-making. It has built-in capability for real-time data, but it's not interactive data analytics. People need another solution such as Power BI to be integrated to get real-time data with interactive analytics. When it comes to customizing reporting in SAP Business One, it has the capability to customize reports via SAP Crystal Reports. It has a good amount of reports, but for each business, you need to understand exactly what the customer needs to customize their reports. The solution includes a mobile app to access key business information, though it is a very weak mobile app. The main benefit SAP Business One provides to users is ease of access. It's very good to present to customers, both from the interface and capabilities perspective. It's suitable for small to medium companies, making the buy-in for the solution very good. The pricing for SAP Business One is very competitive. Overall, SAP Business One is a very good solution for small to medium businesses. If your company is looking for an ERP to run end-to-end business, this is the solution. You need specific add-ons to run in specific industries, but it's approximately 70% good for most small to medium companies. My overall rating for SAP Business One is 7 out of 10.

Pros

"Penta offers a single way to solve our problems rather than building a new ERP system in the company."
"I believe Penta costs less than SAP"
"SAP Business One on AWS is a highly stable solution."
"This is an all-in-one ERP solution for small businesses. Everything is linked. Once you have this, you have all the features available in SAP. You have PR, inventory items, journal entry, and project management features."
"I like analytics, dashboard, and KPIs a lot. It is very helpful when I need to check balances and financial statements."
"We like it as it's easy to use, cost-effective, easy to deploy, and easy to get support for."
"I like the monthly order management features."
"SAP Business One has good reports and is simple to customize and use."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"This is a great product on its own, and the technicalities of it have improved as compared to the older version."

Cons

"However, the production guys tell me that Penta is not suitable for mass production. If we build a hundred cars per day or more, then we'll have problems. At the same time, I can't say whether the issue is Penta or our process. In other words, maybe we have too many manual projects in it."
"However, the production guys tell me that Penta is not suitable for mass production. If we build a hundred cars per day or more, then we'll have problems."
"Lacks an advanced HR model with payroll."
"The solution lacks ability to integrate with other tools."
"There are aspects of SAP Business One that could be improved, particularly when compared with other ERP systems, such as the high license cost."
"SAP could improve the performance of the business alignment with other products."
"You get support through the vendor, not SAP directly. If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad."
"It could have RPA automation and RPA elements. There could also be add-ons for a Document Management System and Warehouse Management System."
"The browser access needs to improve, as everybody in the industry knows how limited it is."
"The solution could improve by adding HR and payroll, and consolidation should be included by default."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The price of SAP Business One is not comparable to other solutions. SAP is a well-known brand, and its price is on the higher side. However, if the solution offers the right fit for an organization the price is not a major concern for those who choose to use it."
"We compared the Microsoft solution with Oracle NetSuite, as they have a price decrease. It is, however, not that much cheaper, and the price is comparable to SAP."
"We feel that the licensing fees are a bit on the higher side."
"The product is moderately priced."
"I rate the solution's pricing a six or seven out of ten since it is expensive."
"The product's license is expensive. It could be cheaper."
"There is an annual licensing fee, and it changes once you add or remove users. The solution is on the upper-end side and expensive."
"I rate the price of SAP Business One a seven out of ten."
