We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Fortinet offers the latest versions to cater to the needs of enterprises.""SSL-VPN is very useful for us and has been very reliable.""It enables our organization to become more productive. Also, it protects our NEtWare from viruses and malware.""The payment function for applications is good.""The initial setup is straightforward.""I like several features that this product has, such as antivirus and internet navigation inspection. It is also simple to use.""FortiGate firewalls are easy to manage through a user-friendly web interface. They also have advanced features like DDoS and DLP. However, I wouldn't recommend enabling all of these features on one device because it can cause performance issues.""The interface is very good."

"A valuable feature that we can consider is the deployment time, which is significantly reduced, almost 90% faster compared to other solutions. This leads to quicker deployment and less downtime.""Palo Alto blocks the new threats better than other tools.""The solution provides good customer support.""Comprehensive logging is essential for monitoring and analysis purposes. For remote users, the firewall can be configured as a VPN concentrator, with VPN policies defined within the firewall settings.""It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The product's most valuable feature is web filtering.""The direct profiles is a valuable feature.""Palo Alto Networks firewalls offer single-mode panel processing with live scanning."

"The solution is excellent for web and application filtering and remote access with the VPN.""The product is a simple and user-friendly UTM that can handle accounting, reporting, firewall, IPS, and antivirus for industries.""The solution has good load balancers.""The most valuable feature of this product is the threat protection.""I find Sophos Cyberoam UTM very good. I like the feature of being able to block off Mac IDs that host users. For example, you have a Mac or Windows laptop and you created a hotspot. Other devices like mobiles and tablets e.g. iPads connected to that hotspot. We can block those devices that connected to the hotspot we created, only through Sophos. It's a good feature we didn't find in other UTMs.""It is very easy to use.""The port forwarding is good.""It has been working fine. You just turn it on, and it works."

Cons
"Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having a frequent ask questions(FAQ) area for people to receive quick answers to popular questions. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have an SMS notification feature. For example, if you cannot access your email you could receive an SMS message.""Cisco Meraki products are rising very quickly in the cloud and the connected era. Meraki products offer much better ROI, upgradability, and manageability.""I would like to see improvements with the antivirus and IPS as they are not working properly all the time.""A sandbox would be good in order to be able to inspect the emails containing spam and be able to validate the emails that contain malware, prior to delivering to the customer.""Its customer service could be better.""There are some cloud-based features that could be much more flexible than they currently are.""Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having more capabilities for troubleshooting VPN connections. For example, I do get some feedback about the current status, but I could use some history and logging of important events. The information is logged in our Syslog server, but I could use that information from the device. If they could provide a GUI to have some more insight on what's going with my VPN would be useful.""When we cluster the two Fortinet FortiGate boxes together we have some issues."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"With Palo Alto Networks PA-Series, I find that the support team takes a long time to resolve the issues that a user may face during the use of the product.""Pricing flexibility could be an aspect worth considering, as it has been a concern for some of our clients.""Palo Alto Networks PA-Series is complicated to configure compared to one of its competitors.""There seem to be some issues with TAC (Technical Assistance Center) or Palo Alto support. Anytime you open a case, a level one engineer joins, and then you have to escalate it to level two or three. The support system has changed in the past few years, and that's something they need to look into.""In future releases, maybe Palo Alto can enhance and enlarge their portfolio with SIEM solutions. They already have an endpoint protection solution, SOAR solution, that's fine. But when it comes to standalone IDS/IPS solution or email security solution, for example, we don't have any product in that category for Palo Alto.""Palo Alto Networks PA-Series is expensive. We would like to see additional threat hunting features.""Palo Alto should integrate artificial intelligence for security purposes in the background for well-known threats and new risks coming to the market.""The web interface is slow."

More Palo Alto Networks PA-Series Cons →

"Technical support could be faster.""VPN configuration is not very swift.""Sometimes, during part of the configuration, if you don't have a lot of technical knowledge, then you may struggle a bit to configure it.""Needs a mail alert/notification when the device loses any of its connections, during ISP redundancy implementation.""While the security features are excellent, they could be improved.""The price is obviously a more sensitive area to focus on.""Network visibility is an area in the solution with shortcomings where improvements can be made.""The product strategy of the manufacturer is strange. I don't understand what they are doing in that regard."
