Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Because everything is on Microsoft and we use Azure, integration with the product is easier. That's the most important thing when you use many Microsoft products. It's easier to integrate everything in one place.""Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention's responses are faster. Its installation is also reliable. The security score helps with the security part.""There's a good amount of documentation in case you run into any problems.""The auto-labeling feature is definitely the most valuable feature. It goes in and labels the documents for you in different repositories. It covers the Outlook and Exchange repositories along with SharePoint and OneDrive. It is really helpful in those areas.""We can use Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention to manage devices and site policies.""One of the valuable features of Purview is the ability to create a legal hold on a user's account within the compliance portal. That's pretty useful when it comes to any litigation or if you want to redeem the content within a mailbox, OneDrive, or a generic public SharePoint site.""It has helped our clients to reduce the time to action on insider threats because it can be integrated.""I rate Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention's stability a ten out of ten."

"It is a scalable product.""We use Trend Micro mainly to monitor user activities, such as tracking the websites they visit and purchase items. Additionally, we focus on identifying and addressing antivirus threats. We used to explore a feature related to proxy but decided against it as an enterprise solution wasn't readily available for us. Our primary use of Trend Micro revolves around end-user security. Integration with Active Directory has proven beneficial, allowing us to easily push updates or changes directly from the console.""The interface and dashboard are okay.""We find the initial setup to be very easy.""The product's initial setup phase was easy.""None of the Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention features worked well, but the solution had a straightforward setup.""Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention is a reliable product.""I'm not an administrator of Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention, but an end-user, and what I like about it is that it can detect events that could cause data loss. It's a good solution."

Cons
"I would like Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention to be on the source code or SQL databases. It is difficult to do classification and labeling when you have a third-party source code or a third-party Oracle database. It is seamless when it comes to Microsoft documents but is not so with third-party source codes. Microsoft needs to work on it a little bit more.""The support is poor.""The AI advancements can improve the false positives.""The solution should provide better integration with other systems.""There is a need for improvements, particularly in ensuring that file-based recognition is more reliable and comprehensive.""There is no AIP for Linux systems. That's a setback. Another thing it's lacking is libraries to work with Python. It has libraries for C# and C++, for example, but not for Python and, these days, Python is very useful.""They do not provide language options beyond the ones already available, so our language option is missing.""A site can have different containers where you store data. We have always wanted to apply compliance, labels, and policies at the container level, rather than to an outer shell or at the site level. That is something we have been looking forward to and I believe Microsoft is already planning something like that."

"Within the solution, many of the functions do not perform as intended...It is not a stable solution...It is not a scalable solution.""The solution could use better logging in the future.""It's hard for me to answer any questions about missing features. It's the outside companies who support us that manage this DLP solution at this moment.""Most of the functions don't work in the way that they are supposed to.""The tool should improve its reporting functionality. We need a proper reporting feature in a DLP solution.""Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention is buggy, which is one area for improvement. I also found Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention support horrible, so that's another area for improvement.""Needs a remote login option.""The platform's support structure for government-specific domain requirements could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is a part of our Microsoft licensing. We pay for a yearly renewal. Its price is reasonable for the size of the organization we are. It is fairly competitive, and you get what you pay for. We have an E5 license, and a part of understanding the E5 license is to see what all you get with it. If you really look at it from that standpoint, you get a lot of value. You have Defender and all its security features in there as well. Their licensing is fairly flexible. They have different programs. We've seen ones where you could pay for up to three to five years in advance. There is also a monthly pay-as-you-go type of deal, but we're doing a yearly renewal and fixing the budget."
  • "Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention is part of a bundle and is not sold as a standalone product."
  • "The product has the best price-to-performance ratio."
  • "It's a little bit pricey compared to competitors, but it's not too high."
  • "We are using the E3 license for Microsoft 365 with the E5 compliance license add-on."
  • "The pricing is reasonable."
  • "I am satisfied with the tool's pricing."

  • "The licensing and pricing of Trend Micro are comparatively low and competitive since they are offered in a bundle, especially compared to Symantec, which was has a relatively high price."
  • "It's relatively cheap so the pricing is okay."
  • "The client needs to pay for the Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention license on an annual basis."
  • "Price-wise, it is a cheap solution. I rate the solution's pricing a two on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
  • "Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention is expensive compared to other solutions."
  • "I rate the tool's pricing a three out of ten."
  • "The product is worth the money you pay for it. It is not an expensive solution."
  • "It's not too expensive, especially when compared to SecureTech, and Forcepoint. It's actually cheaper. A license costs about INR 4,000 to INR 5,000, roughly $60 per license per year. In comparison, Forcepoint licenses are around $90 to $95."

    Overview

At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Our mission is grounded in both the world in which we live and the future we strive to create. Today, we live in a mobile-first, cloud-first world, and the transformation we are driving across our businesses is designed to enable Microsoft and our customers to thrive in this world.

Now more than ever, your data is on the move—whether it’s on a laptop, flash drive, or moving across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures. At any point along the way, your financial data, customer information, intellectual property, or trade secrets could be lost or stolen. Securing this data is further complicated by several growing risk factors:

Rapidly evolving compliance regulations and mandates, including GDPR
    Continued growth of workforce mobility
Employees using their own mobile devices and consumer apps for work
Rising frequency of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and data breach incidents

To avoid the embarrassment, reputation damage, regulatory fines, and revenue loss, today’s enterprise must be able to identify, track, and secure all confidential data from multiple points within the organisation and in the cloud without impacting employee productivity and performance. In the past, many organisations tried traditional data loss prevention (DLP) solutions but found they were too intrusive, too complex to manage, and too costly to acquire, deploy, and maintain.
