Rugged data migration has accelerated large transfers and supports fast hybrid deployments
For me personally, the best feature of Microsoft Azure Data Box is that it's ruggedized storage, unlikely to get damaged or lost. Microsoft Azure Data Box's robust integration with the Azure platform benefits my organization by allowing us to move large amounts of data; rather than having to copy it over the internet, which can take weeks or months, we can copy it onto this local disk and then ship it off to Microsoft and they'll upload it for you. The Data Box device's ability to handle harsh transport conditions supports my data management because the boxes are certainly very ruggedized.

Low-code integrations have automated workflows and save time across enterprise applications
They can enhance the error handling and debugging part. Troubleshooting complex pipeline failures can be time-consuming. We are spending a lot of time on error handling. More detailed error messages and root cause analysis tools can be added, which will definitely improve the developer experience. In the Ultra real-time integrations, we can monitor the last execution history of only 100 runs. That can be increased, which would be one of the platform improvements that can really be taken. However, they are doing very well because lots of ChatGPTs and AI assistants have been added in the last two years, which makes a very good effect. SnapLogic is the only platform that provides this kind of visibility to the developers. Anyone, even if they have low experience and are starting their IT careers, can directly jump in and learn SnapLogic. The documentation is very easy to learn. Anyone, even a layman, can refer to that documentation and go through its Snap-pack to understand what configuration has to be done to use this Snap-pack. This makes SnapLogic definitely exceptional in the market. You won't find such comprehensive documentation in other iPaaS tools. The draggable packs truly demonstrate its power in usability. Governance and security are also well in place in SnapLogic, but there are areas for improvement. They can add more granular role and permission controls that provide greater flexibility for large enterprises. For example, if you have to provide access to 70 users in one shot, that can be improved. More improvements in policy enforcement capabilities are possible as well. SnapLogic can improve the data lineage part to achieve better end-to-end visibility into data movement. Also, during validation, we can only see up to 2,000 records currently. They can increase that from 2,000 to 20,000. They can put more visibility on costs and resource visibility, with better reporting on platform usage, processing consumption, and cost optimization opportunities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Overall, I see substantial benefit from using Microsoft Azure Data Box for my organization."
"Microsoft Azure Data Box has much more usability than other tools like it. It is very intuitive."
"We use the solution for integration purposes."
"It provides secure transfer of large amounts of data."
"One valuable aspect is the support we receive from Microsoft Azure vendors."
"The primary use case for Microsoft Azure Data Box involves transferring huge amounts of data from the customer's on-premise environment, ensuring it's shipped correctly with all tags and encryptions."
"We're looking at this solution because it's part of an overall tool suite, so the integration piece is what's striking our interest in it."
"The solution has allowed the organization to safely transfer and store into the Microsoft Azure Cloud easily and quickly large amounts of data that can then be readily accessed."
"The feature I found most valuable in SnapLogic is low-code development."
"The solutions ability to connect "snaps" or components to the graphic user interface is very intuitive, prevents errors, and makes implementations easy."
"SnapLogic has led to faster delivery of many pipelines that previously would have taken much more time to develop."
"SnapLogic has positively impacted our organization by enabling us to reach our delivery within our timeline."
"The technical support from SnapLogic is excellent, and I would give it a complete ten."
"SnapLogic is an excellent iPaaS tool which would definitely reduce the time and cost."
"One of the best features SnapLogic offers is its user-friendly interface."
"SnapLogic has impacted my organization positively because many of the automations we made with dragging and dropping files used to be done by a human, so now there is less human error and it saves the team as it requires fewer people to do the work."

Cons

"On an enterprise level, a per-user license for more than 1,000 users is very costly."
"For me it doesn't work well. ... If you are a non-Microsoft shop, to use Microsoft Azure Data Box, you would need to integrate it with your other vendors, and whether or not that will be possible will depend on the platform or platforms that host them."
"I think it's a single node solution. If it can be spread out across more of the enterprise and have more segregation in its virtual environment, that would be good."
"When it comes to old applications, they may not be the most suitable environment for Microsoft's current focus on Azure and the latest technologies. It would be helpful if Microsoft could provide some guidelines or recommendations for transitioning from old to new."
"I am not confident in this device's ability to perform a network backup in our data center."
"Currently, I do not see any areas for improvement."
"The product is physically too big. It takes much space and can be hard to fit."
"For me it doesn't work well, so I work in Microsoft and non-Microsoft shops."
"We tried to leverage SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform (IIP) with the AWS platform, but utilizing SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform (IIP) towards the AWS platform has been a little complex when compared to an Azure private cloud."
"That said, while the SnapLogic technical managers are very good, the support model isn't great and should improve."
"The only thing I do not prefer at the minute about SnapLogic is when I go into the monitor, it can be a bit slow, so when I am trying to diagnose why something went wrong and I am searching, it can take a bit of time."
"I would like to see more performance-related dashboards, ones that display the cost of a pipeline, for instance. Also, it would be helpful to have management dashboards for overseeing pipelines and connections."
"I chose a rating of seven out of ten because I feel SnapLogic's AI can be substantially better in this day and age."
"To improve SnapLogic, the error messaging functionality needs enhancement; when there is an error with a pipeline, sometimes the errors are a little generic."
"The setup cost would be four or five. There would be only one point of improvement if the price could be lower."
"The solution isn't ideal for complex processing or logic. We use another solution for that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product’s pricing is normal for enterprises but higher for SMBs."
"This is a pay-as-you-go solution, where you pay for the amount of storage space that you are using."
"The pricing is based on the size of the appliance needed to store the data."
"On a scale of one to five, with one being not good and five being competitive, I would rate this solution as a four."
"The pricing is okay."
"SnapLogic is not expensive. It's reasonably priced."
"I used the free trial."
"The license model is based on consumption."
"When comparing it with solutions like Apigee or MuleSoft, it still offers better value."
"They have pricing/usage tiers that are easy to move up or down."
"From the ROI perspective, the price is extremely high"
"It is a higher initial cost than other easy-to-use integration apps."
