"The feature I find most valuable is the single pane of glass where you can configure a monitor view, all from one dashboard. For example, on the wireless side, you can configure it under the configuration panel, and then view statistics like location analytics, user analytics, etc.""Meraki Dashboard centralizes control of all our equipment into one cloud-based console, so we can manage it from anywhere. We can resolve problems remotely outside of business hours because it is on the cloud. You can use the dashboard to change security settings or configure routers and switches.""The ability of the product to perform with simplicity of deployment make it a valuable solution.""I would say the ease of use is the most valuable feature. It's very easy to set up and get up and running.""We greatly utilize the network because we can plug it into the DNS, VPN, or equipment. It's very good. Meraki Dashboard enhances wireless network management. We appreciate its flexibility, as it allows for easy suite configuration. We can handle everything on there when there's a policy or any other requirement.""It is very stable and we have been using it for five years.""The product can scale if you need it to.""We find that Meraki has all the features you need to be able to enable complex network protocols for AV equipment. We deal with a streaming product over IP, and Meraki is fantastic at that."

"It has improved our server performance monitoring overall. We know right away when there are problems. It has built-in statistics, so we can go back and see if there's spiking. We can check what's happening every day around the same time and check the configuration to see if there's something that's running and needs to be fixed.""The solution allows you to configure and customize how you want to collect information from servers or other systems.""Every new asset placed in the environment can be automatically detected, predicting human failures.""We use it to monitor and manage our servers.""It has an intuitive UI with beautiful graphs and customizable maps.""Zabbix is very easy to implement.""The best thing about Zabbix is the integration and the APIs that are included are very fast""Setup was straightforward. Initial deployment took two or three months."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"It is not appropriate for large, enterprise businesses.""Meraki Dashboard could improve integration with non-Cisco platforms.""You can't really clone or replicate a device, that sort of feature would be useful. You can clone the site but you cannot clone the device.""The one issue that we have had is that the VPN tunnel would go down unless you worked out with the ISP that you would be using a static IP address on the WAN interface.""More integration would be an improvement.""Not a lot of training is available.""The MDM, however, is bad. We're using another MDM now because Meraki was so bad.""One area that could use improvement in the Meraki Dashboard is user-friendliness when navigating to port configurations."

More Meraki Dashboard Cons →

"I am having difficulties connecting it to Grafana, as well as some of the other plugins like Kibana.""Documentation terminology could be improved.""There are areas of improvement. The database grows really fast. So, when you install Zabbix, you have to deal with some issues, like the database. We become pretty big very fast.""Zabbix does not draw automatic mapping of the network, this is something they should add in the future. There is a lot of effort that is involved in tailoring some of the settings which could be made easier.""Zabbix claims that there is an auto-discovery process but my team member was facing difficulty and was told that it's not really automatic, and there are some manual steps.""Zabbix could improve when it comes to large-scale use cases. Additionally, the inventory could be better when connecting to other solutions, such as ServiceNow. There show to be better integration with other platforms and storage.""I would like to see a more flexible mobile client, and better HA out of the box.""The only improvement I would suggest, revolves around its AI and ML capabilities."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
