Endpoint monitoring has become faster and has reduced alert response time for our clients
The best features that Alert Logic MDR offers include AI and behavior analysis, which I find most valuable. AI and behavior analysis mean that within AI there is static AI analysis and behavior analysis with subtypes. For example, if there is any file or a certain subtype, or if ransomware is happening, or any tool or app is being used, there are subtypes of AI. I appreciate that Alert Logic MDR has a separate AI for each type. Alert Logic MDR has positively impacted our organization by minimizing the alert SLA timing. When we used our other endpoint detection and response solution, we required at least fifteen minutes to raise one alert. After using Alert Logic MDR, we integrated it with SOAR technology, so within five minutes, the alert is raised to the client. Efficiency-wise, reducing the alert SLA timing to five minutes has been very beneficial. Whenever we receive an alert from endpoint detection and response from an endpoint to the Alert Logic MDR console, the system directly has the protect mode, conducting the kill and quarantine process itself. We only have to perform static analysis, and we have the playbooks, so they conduct some static analysis from there and directly raise the alert to the respective team.

Customers have found quick incident response and proactive security management through effective threat detection
Secureworks Taegis Managed XDR MDR is a great product that has not posed any challenges from my perspective. I am extremely happy with the quick response from the Secureworks team. After the Sophos merger, I look forward to seeing a better and more enhanced version of the product. The team does a phenomenal job with automatic maintenance.

Pros

"It's been a positive experience for us overall."
"I would definitely recommend Alert Logic because it is a good product that constantly adds new features and changes interfaces."
"It has the ability to install agents, it is pretty straightforward, and you can automate the process pretty easily."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"Alert Logic MDR has positively impacted our organization by minimizing the alert SLA timing."
"The installation and configuration were slick."
"Notifications and the detail of notifications are most valuable. It is a user-friendly solution."
"The quick reaction and the ability to restore the state before within a short time are significant."
"The most valuable feature is the fast alerting and response time."
"The advantage of using this solution is that the setup is done quickly and can be done in-house."
"Secureworks Taegis Managed XDR MDR is a great product that has not posed any challenges from my perspective."
"We don't have a full SOC, so it's helpful to have them sifting through our alerts and only bringing actionable items to us."
"The initial setup was very straight forward."
"This solution gathers the information logs from all devices and correlates all the information. It notifies us of any critical events taking place across our networks which has been valuable."
"The solution definitely made us way more aware of the possibilities out there."
"The most valuable features are IDS and IPS."

Cons

"Alert Logic needs to expand its SOCs to serve more markets, such as the Middle East and Asia. There should be infrastructure that covers more time zones. The company should also develop an EDR that is natively integrated into their solution. Currently, a client must buy another EDR solution like CrowdStrike or Sophos. I think Alert Logic is developing this. Built-in email security could also be developed and integrated."
"It would be great to see more of an endpoint protector."
"For every new client or every new case, my company has to spin up a new instance, because of which there is a new URL."
"I think Alert Logic MDR could be improved."
"The product needs to mature. We don't want to be bombarded with unnecessary issues and have the real ones slip through."
"The documentation, especially with the initial setup, needs improvement."
"We cannot say we have seen a return on investment ROI-wise, but our first priority is to secure the endpoint."
"I would like to see it do initial scans and start capturing data, which it will truly analyze, not just be a reporting system saying, "Here is an email. Here is an email. Here is an email.""
"Tamper-proofing or tamper protection is still pending in Secureworks."
"This solution could be improved with a higher degree of automation such as automated emails, triggers and defining the severity of the cases."
"GUI for resolving tickets is terrible. Non-intuitive, offering a dizzying array of options, often none of which made sense even for common problems."
"The deployment could definitely be improved."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR's query language and stability need improvement."
"Tamper-proofing or tamper protection is still pending in Secureworks. Tamper protection will make it more secure. If I'm an admin of a device, I can uninstall an agent without the knowledge of the security or Secureworks admin. If someone gets hold of one endpoint with admin credentials, he can remove anything, and an organization will lose visibility. They need to work on providing more visibility across endpoints. A couple of times it has happened that the cloak agent is there, but it did not get activated, or there were some issues. The machine was restarted, but the cloak agent didn't run. In such cases, you have to troubleshoot. It is a big issue if a cyber attack is happening, and your machine is rebooted, but the events are not captured."
"In terms of ROI, I'd be surprised if there is any investment return on the SIM."
"The integration would look better with other products, with other EDRs, with other firewalls, with other older versions of firewalls, and the versions of software and hardware."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Price-wise, Cybereason Managed Detection & Response is effective for larger companies, but if you have a small company with less than 1,000 employees, then it gets expensive."
"Alert Logic has better competitive pricing than some of its competitors."
"Its pricing is very reasonable considering what you get for what you pay. There is quite a good value there. Its licensing is also very logical. They've got the licensing price points at a reasonable level. It is on a monthly license but a yearly contract. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it. It sits in there. We get emails and just delete them. Around the world, we don't even use it."
"Almost any product that is on the AWS Marketplace is super easy to subscribe to."
"Price of the solution was very reasonable considering the size of our organization at the time, and so it worked out perfectly."
"The Red Cloak agent is free."
"It is expensive but there is no better product than this."
"The price is kind of on par. The licensing was comparable to other solutions. It's not particularly high or low."
"The pricing of Dell Secureworks is very reasonable."
"Initially, the cost was going to be something around $160 or $170. And eventually, I think they brought it down to $110 and they also threw in some endpoint protection platforms."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR is very expensive and could be more cost-effective."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. One agent costs approximately 270 dirhams/70 USD for one year. There is a reduction in cost per licence as the number of licences used increases."
