Pricing and ROI: EX Series switches are more cost-effective, offering better value against features, often considered less expensive than similar Cisco and HP models, though licensing can raise costs. The QFX Series, while more expensive, aligns with enterprise investments where advanced capabilities justify the price. Both series offer stable performance, minimizing long-term operational costs, thereby providing a good return on investment.
Compared to other low-end switches with similar features, these are more robust and offer better scalability, which justifies the higher cost.
Other brands might break after three or four years, but with Juniper, I can use it until now, around nine years, and it's still very usable and very stable.
The normal ROI customers work with is five years unless there is a major change in technology.
