Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Offers scalability and ability to create granular policies
It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution.  Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior. I have been using it for five…

Useful tunneling, beneficial enterprise integration, and priced well
The scalability of MobileIron UEM is good for on-premise and cloud deployments. MobileIron UEM has given the customer the ability to manage how many devices they have. If they have more than 10,000 devices, they need to upgrade the server. For example, they might need to upgrade the CPU or memory, et cetera. We have approximately 5,000 to 10,000 users using this solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"The most valuable features in Microsoft Intune for me are application deployment, Defender deployment, and asset management."
"It is more efficient to have one solution rather than having security parts spread across three, four, or five solutions."
"I am easily able to manage devices and assets, especially laptops and desktops."
"The many policies available in Microsoft Intune for managing our devices are valuable."
"Once it is well integrated with the rest of the environment, it makes everything easy."
"The technical support of Microsoft Intune is good."
"At the moment, Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"The most useful feature of Avalanche is remote control — especially the ability to remotely install packages to many devices all at once. When the client has, for example, 100 devices needing updates, it would take far too long to update each device individually. But with Avalanche, we just connect to all the devices through the PC and send the updates out with one click."
"Installing the packages remotely and remote control are the most valuable features. There are around 100 pieces or devices, and the only way to send a package to a device is by connecting to the PC and then manually sending the package. By using Avalanche, we can send a package to all devices with one click. It is very stable and easy to use. Their technical support is also very good. We have implemented this solution for our clients, and they are satisfied with this solution. It does what it is meant to do."
"The terminal remediation feature is valuable."
"The most valuable features of the Ivanti Avalanche are the remote control and the file transfer."
"The solution is easy to work with. I like its stability and flexibility."
"It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution. Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The company provides great customer service."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"It's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"The user interface is user-friendly."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in server patch management and allowing direct uploads of EXE applications instead of needing to convert them to Intune format, which would save time."
"Reporting needs improvement."
"Technical support is not that great."
"Microsoft Intune needs to improve the initial login process."
"I expect Microsoft Intune to have more features in the cloud because there are two major functionalities that we need to be added. This is software metering and license management. These functionalities, for now, must be on-premise. For this purpose, we have set up a SQL Server and I hope that in near future this option will be in the cloud in Microsoft Intune."
"The worst aspect is the reporting."
"Customer service is not really good. I would give it a six out of ten. The main issue is the time it takes to get someone involved who truly understands what the product does."
"Intune has limited integration with non-Microsoft solutions."
"There is a lack of flexibility."
"The solution can improve by adding a kiosk mode option to the devices."
"Because our clients are all very satisfied with Ivanti from their side, there is little I can say about room for improvement. However, I think that to stay competitive with other solutions offering a similiar solution, Ivanti could look into making their products more affordable."
"In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior."
"The tool's stability could be better."
"Its price could be improved. It could be cheaper. I would like to see a better approach for Android and an easy way to send packages and manage devices."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti."
"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It comes with the E5 plan. We bought the E5 plan from Microsoft."
"The pricing is inherently reasonable, as Microsoft leverages market insights to maintain the total cost of ownership at around ninety to ninety-five percent of what would be incurred in an on-premise scenario."
"Pricing can be improved."
"On a scale of one to ten with one being the cheapest, the cost of Microsoft Intune is a five."
"We don't get Intune as a separate module. Most of the time, we use it within an enterprise agreement like E3 or E5. Those licenses are at a good price, but what is annoying is that every single year they go higher."
"Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license."
"The price could be better."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"It is expensive. Its price could be cheaper."
"The license is based on assets. I would rate the pricing a six out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"You will need to purchase licenses for each device."
"Although the solution is a bit costly in my opinion, for customers who really need this solution, Ivanti Avalanche is worth it."
"Other than the standard licensing fee, there aren't any additional or hidden costs, although I believe Avalanche could be made more affordable in general."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
