Offers profiling and address standardization but can be complicated
Informatica Data Quality has its data warehouse, primarily using Oracle and some SQL databases. You need a database to host the data. The cleansed version of the data is stored in the data warehouse. It integrates with PowerCenter and other Informatica tools. The integration details can be complex, but a regional setup is involved in this process. Profiling smaller datasets, such as 10,000-50,000 records, worked fine. However, unexpected issues could arise with larger datasets, such as thousands of records or more, especially with tables containing many columns. Handling tables with fifty or more columns can be challenging, even in Excel. A mismatch in data types could cause the entire system to crash. Continual enhancements are being made to address these issues, which can be unique to specific industries like finance and healthcare.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The scalability of the solution is excellent."
"The support is very good."
"MDM doesn't require a separate IDQ."
"We are able to set rules, establish a data quality management platform, and monitor the quality."
"The dictionary, the search, and the ratings are without a doubt the most beneficial components of this solution."
"Informatica MDM's most valuable feature is the interconnection between multiple Master Data domains."
"We use it for various use cases, including data provisioning, data validation, continuous monitoring of data quality, and data standardization."
"Informatica Data Quality is a product that is worth the money."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to use JavaScript in formulas."
"Using DRG within Oracle Data Relationship Management has been beneficial for our organization."
"It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

Cons

"The only thing that I can imagine that might be improved is how the available transactions verify addresses used. These transactions have a valid end date and must be used within the agreed timeframe."
"The product is not too user-friendly to do the configurations."
"With the solution, we had some issues, and we have every day, and we used to open a ticket. Sometimes, there are data issues and transformation issues."
"The cloud version could be better in terms of pricing."
"The integration could be a bit better. The process is something new."
"There's certainly room for improvement. One crucial area is generating detailed reports on file statuses. Presently, this is represented visually, often as graphs or charts. Such reporting could offer comprehensive insights into the areas that demand attention and further scrutiny."
"Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog could improve by having a much better user interface. It is not user-friendly."
"Interoperability is one area where EDC has room for improvement. It was challenging when the faculty took over the data world and had specific vendors they wanted to use, and some were not particularly open platforms."
"Improvements are needed in the fees and the licensing part. The tool's price can be made lower."
"When we moved to the cloud, it was extremely complicated."
"Better external connections and API integrations are needed."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is comparable."
"It's pretty high for us. It's more on the higher side, like low to middle high."
"I rate the licensing cost of Informatica MDM a five out of ten."
"A yearly subscription is paid based on the number of people using the solution. Price-wise, it falls under the medium range since it is neither very costly nor too cheap."
"I'm not sure about the most recent pricing trends, but I don't believe it's significantly different from PowerCenter. I believe it is nearly the same."
"You pay for this solution based on IPUs, Informatica Processing Units. This depends on how much data you process and how much memory you consume from the cloud provider, and you pay as you go."
"I rate the product's pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"It is cost effective and an easily accessible tool."
"The price of the solution is very, very high."
