Affordability and security improve our cloud experience while learning new systems
I'm not working with any AI features in IBM Public Cloud, but they are in the process of building it.I am very satisfied with the security that IBM Public Cloud provides. I would rate IBM Public Cloud eight out of ten, where one is worst and ten is the best.

Cost-effectiveness and pricing consistency support diverse high-intensity applications
The services of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) are quite competent when compared to AWS Cloud, and they are also lower in cost. We use compute, storage, and network services. A notable feature is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's consistent global pricing, which is advantageous. Furthermore, applications using Oracle Database not only work seamlessly on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) but also benefit from a 25% offset on Oracle Database licenses.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The beauty of cloud service providers, especially public cloud service providers, is that they are scalable every time when you need them because their payment model is pay-as-you-go."
"I am very much satisfied with the technical support team at IBM Public Cloud."
"For non-complex applications, the IBM Cloud works fine and the price is much lower than the competitors."
"What I like most in IBM Public Cloud is how easy it is to create serverless functions. They are called IBM functions, but in AWS, they are called Lambda functions. Those are pretty standard, and another thing I like the most is that you have fewer restrictions on the amount of data you can transfer across those functions. IBM Public Cloud is way more flexible than AWS. I also like that IBM Public Cloud is pretty straightforward to integrate. As long as you have all the tools IBM provides you, getting everything up and running is straightforward."
"This is a predictable and dependable service."
"It provides robust analytics and management tools to give customers complete visibility into their environment and infrastructure."
"This product is very good because it is accessible in remote locations, and anyone can deploy from any place."
"An advantage of IBM Public Cloud is the bare metal server. We can take the bare metal server. It's not shared with anyone. We can deploy our applications without sharing them with anyone. That is an advantage of IBM Public Cloud."
"We have seen a return on investment."
"Initial setup of databases is not a problem."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is Data Safe, which allows for the masking and encryption of personal identifiable information, ensuring data security."
"The most valuable feature is the monitoring."
"It is a stable solution since it offers a very powerful performance to its users."
"The solution is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is that it offers several adaptors."
"The security on the solution is very good."

Cons

"It will be challenging to implement if you do not have any experience."
"The connectivity and speed of IBM Public Cloud are much lower compared to the competition."
"While they have about 99% of what we need, the only exception, perhaps, was the push notification feature that was discontinued. They delayed the replacement product."
"Maybe performance enhancers and reports could be better improved. If they do so, it would be better. Of all the drawbacks I saw, this would be the biggest enhancement."
"The deployment can be a bit of a pain. There are a lot of packages and a lot of options and it can require complex configuration to get it right."
"I would like to see a more user-friendly deployment process in the next release of this solution."
"The solution needs to be more autonomous. It should let the DL go to allow for more jobs on the cloud. It could have a better interface as well."
"Support could be improved."
"The solution needs to improve the discovery and assessment of the existing infrastructure."
"Oracle support could be better; we had cases where certain regions experienced specific issues and received little help from Oracle."
"In general, the systems application needs improvement."
"The biggest challenge I'm having with the cloud offering is the sizing. So, pricing becomes difficult. The sizing challenge is in terms of being very clear on how your data growth or your requirements would be. It becomes a bit difficult to be able to ensure that there's enough future proofing in what you've signed. At the same time, the whole idea behind the cloud is to be able to pay for what you use. You don't want to pay for something that you're not using."
"The packaging part of the software needs improvement. It lacks customization abilities for users. Giving them VMs for machine learning or running their own programs like Azure and Amazon, for example. Things like scalability based on the requirement of the tools. Oracle still lacks these kinds of things. For example, if you need a VM from Oracle, you need to pay for a monthly fee. They started developing containership but it's still at the initial stage and it's still lacking. They also need to develop integration between packages."
"The solution does not follow a retention policy while taking ad hoc backups. Since it does not follow the retention policy, we had to do the manual task to check the backups."
"The deployment from on-premises to the cloud is a bit complicated."
"The initial setup can be a bit complex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using the trial version of this solution, so we have not paid anything."
"The licensing fees are straightforward and predictable."
"IBM Public Cloud is pretty cheap. They have an ongoing free tier that basically won't expire, so as long as your solution is small enough, you can have a test set that you can use for demos, which will cost you almost nothing."
"In order to be competitive, you have to commit to a contract for at least one year, but you pay a fixed monthly fee."
"It pretty much has a standard price. There is no hidden price with IBM Public Cloud."
"IBM has a lesser price compared to other cloud service providers like Azure and AWS."
"Pricing is not as fair as Amazon or Azure."
"The price of IBM Cloud is very cheap compared to competitors AWS and Azure."
"The price for Oracle Cloud may seem expensive, but if you start comparing features and what Oracle offers, you'll realize that the pricing for Oracle Cloud is competitive. If you consider every aspect of Oracle Cloud, you'll see that its price tag is reasonable because it has a good user interface, user experience, and management. Oracle Cloud is a sophisticated infrastructure and the level of management it allows you to enjoy isn't available in other solutions, so I wouldn't worry about needing to invest huge money into it because it's a wonderful product to use."
"The solution is expensive according to services and competition. Also, it is not prevalent in the market. I rate the solution’s pricing a seven on a scale of ten, where ten is expensive, and one is cheap."
"The subscription is a pay-as-you-go model, with fees that are dependent on usage."
"I rate Oracle Cloud three to four out of ten on a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Oracle Cloud Platform's pricing is comparable to other solutions, but it is definitely not cheap."
"OCI's pricing is one of its best features."
"OCI is the cost-effectiveness compared to other similar services, assuming all compliance regulations are met. Additionally, they offer a number of things free of charge, which is particularly beneficial for smaller clients."
"Oracle Cloud Platform is a bit costly. You can always bring your own license or subscribe to the SaaS option, but the SaaS option is very costly. I rate the pricing a six out of ten."
