Lacks multi-platform support and physical infrastructure but excels in storage optimization
We use it for VM backup and Office 365 backup I find the solution to be user-friendly and easy to manage and deploy. It provides storage for Office 365, which is beneficial, and the deduplication technology is excellent, especially in optimizing storage capacity compared to others. In terms of…

An affordable product that offers a reasonably good technical support
I rate the product's initial setup phase an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup phase, and ten is an easy setup phase. The product's installation phase took me around two weeks. On average, it usually takes about a week or two to deploy when everything is in place. The solution is deployed on a hybrid cloud from Azure.

Pros

"Valuable features for us include quick recovery, compression, and deduplication, and the mix of these features leads to a reduced backup footprint while having guaranteed fast recovery in case of DR."
"Reverse Delta is Altaro proprietary backup deduplication technology. With Reverse Delta, the latest version of a file is always made available in its entirety, not as a delta file."
"We frequently use the granular restore option for when our users accidentally delete files or to recover emails from mailboxes. We have found that to be a must-have feature and it comes with the solution at no extra cost."
"If you have VMs to backup, Altaro is the BEST solution for us and many others alike."
"The CDP backup feature is very nice, as it allows you to take backups at high frequencies and with application consistency."
"The ability to test the backups without having to manually mount the VHDs after restore allows us to check the integrity of the backups."
"It is a great lesson in keeping it simple."
"In Hyper-V, I think there are many valuable features, including replication between different hosts, high availability, live migration where I can migrate between one host to another, as well as incremental disaster recovery, which are very good."
"I like the autofill-over feature and the simplicity of the solution."
"Nutanix can converge legacy-style rack mount servers, so it is highly scalable."
"Nutanix, in my opinion, will eventually take over."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the technical support a nine out of ten."
"We use this solution as an integrated backup solution and it is integrated from the backup provider to the Nutanix solution."
"We find the ease of use valuable."
"Nutanix Mine Integrated Backup is useful for those who run an infrastructure where there might arise a need to do some transition or want to opt for digital transformation."
"Our primary use case for the solution is to back up our devices and equipment for employees and some equipment in airport software."

Cons

"Being able to backup the actual host machine would be an improvement for us."
"Basically, how it works is that you have a single local drive, and then you have a cloud backup. It'd be nice if you could rotate the single local backup drive. As of now, you can't."
"Replication is not fast, the GUI could be more user-friendly, and technical support is lacking in Iran."
"The only issue at the moment is a lack of throttling."
"It would be good to if they would expand the functionality to be able to backup normal servers without Hyper-V."
"The replication time between virtual machines is slow."
"To improve Altaro, I would like to see the ability to choose more than one backup location at a time."
"Stability."
"The solution could be cheaper and they should include more education or marketing materials for users to understand how to use the solution."
"The price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"I would like to see the multi-cloud improve."
"The solution's setup process should be simplified."
"Nutanix is not secure enough, and it needs to be more resilient."
"It could be cheaper."
"This solution could be improved with regards to the hosts that integrate with the platform itself. Each of the hosts integrated with the storage and networking only provide one instance of a backup."
"The pricing could be improved. It's an expensive solution."

"There is a free version for Hosts with 2 VMs."
"Its yearly maintenance fee is fairly high for me to renew for upgrades and support."
