Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Next Generation Firewall's best feature is that it can be managed on one platform.""Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall is very simple, easy to use, and flexible.""The most valuable feature is controlling the traffic and the logging. They have real-time logins for traffic logs. Troubleshooting was very easy for me.""When our customer needs some optimization, along with performance and security. If they want everything in one package, I recommend Forcepoint because they have everything.""When comparing this solution to others this one has better reporting, user management, and is easy to use.""It is a scalable product. I know a customer who has deployed more than 4,000 firewalls in a single deployment.""I like the Firewall and the IPS.""One of the most valuable features is having the ability to cluster multiple firewalls even if they are different versions."

"One of the most valuable features of this solution is network management. The customer is able to manage their network from home or we can also manage the whole customer network.""It has good reporting and analytics, that most people can understand without too much difficulty.""It is stable and reliable."

Cons
"Configuration is not easy because it has an old-fashioned interface. The configuration interface is highly complex, and it's been the same for years. They have to change the interface.""They need to improve their alerts.""Its management center should be easier to use. The management interface of Forcepoint is unique and a little bit different from some of the firewall solutions on which people might have worked before. Sometimes, the customers say that it is not very friendly, and we help them with how to use this management interface. It just takes a little bit of time, and after some time, it gets easy to manage or use. It is quite similar to Palo Alto, Fortinet, and legacy Juniper solutions. Their support should be faster. We have received complaints that they are not responding fast, which is not good for the vendor and us.""In larger companies with extensive infrastructure, retrieving logs for a longer period of time can sometimes take a bit longer than desired.""Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall could change its interface, allowing standard or direct connect modes to be configured.""You do need knowledge of the solution in order to set the product up properly.""The optimization is not really ready. If you want very good optimization, you have to add it to the network.""They need to work on stability, it has not been the best in our experience."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The big advantage of this solution is that we can select the right model for our requirements, which is not too expensive."
  • "I believe the licensing fee is for one year, three years, and five years, or something like that. If you wants to increase the support level from a simpler level to platinum, I think that there's a cost. There are differences between every kind of support, but I don't know the numbers."
  • "We would love to take other solution from Forcepoint, but unfortunately the price is too high. That's why we are not considering using Forcepoing for our proxy and DLB. They have a very good DLB, but the matter in the end is the cost."
  • "Forcepoint is very expensive but it's really secure."
  • "It is expensive."
  • "The training that they offer to their end-customers. It's quite expensive, I believe it costs roughly $11,000"
  • "Everything in Forcepoint comes with an individual license, which is kind of a problem. In our last meeting, they said that it may change at the beginning of 2021, and they will try to merge some licenses together. Customers will get more features than what they got previously. We will wait and see."
  • "We have found the price could be reduced. It is a little expensive."

  • "The price of the solution could be more affordable. Customers want to use their own cheap connection and also do not want to pay too much for services from this solution, it becomes too expensive."
  • "I would say, from our cost perspective, they are extremely competitive."
