We performed a comparison between FlexPod XCS and Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Dell Technologies, NetApp, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and others in Converged Infrastructure."The real benefit of this solution is that it is pre-architected with the ability to scale-up and scale-out."
"We have absolutely been able to save space."
"The storage efficiency and performance are valuable."
"The most valuable feature is the one support. Anytime that a customer buys a solution for a server, storage, or network, once they have trouble in their environment, everyone wants to find out who was wrong. With FlexPod, everyone is wrong and there is unified support. The best way to solve the problem is have it be everyone's problem, not just one person's problem. For FlexPod, you can call NetApp or Cisco, and I think it's the best way to solve the problem that the customer has."
"Technical support has been good when we have contacted them in the past. They have been helpful."
"Our time from customer interest to time of deployment has shrunk a lot."
"The ease at which it scales and its redundancy factors. It's extremely redundant and easy-to-scale."
"The most valuable features are the Fabric Interconnect Manager and the UCS Manager."
"The cloud features in-site offering, which I found to be very interesting."
"We really love the Lifecycle manager and one-click upgrades."
"Ease of deployment"
"Nutanix Acropolis AOS is easy to use, integrates with other hardware configurations, and is simple to manage."
"The fact that there is only one interface to deploy a complete solution for maximum storage is fantastic."
"The architecture of Nutanix is the best, and the virtualization we get, out of the box, is an advantage. Also, dedupe and compression are done natively, inside the platform, so there are no additional licenses. That adds value to it."
"We have had good feedback from our customers about this solution."
"The most valuable features of Nutanix Acropolis AOS are storage and hyper-converged. The solution is easy to use and the administration is very good."
"With the UCS X-Series, I would like to see the fabric interconnects in the chassis. Instead of hanging out so the chassis is 7U, you are increasing your footprint to 9U with the fabric enhancer, where some of the competing solutions are 7U and have collapsed that network fabric into the chassis. This is another thing that I would like to see from Cisco, though not really on the NetApp side since that is pretty solid."
"A progress bar would...be pretty cool."
"Updates are not frequent enough."
"We want always more speed, capacity, fluidity, and growth that we can easily integrate."
"It would be very helpful if the upgrades for Cisco, VMware, and NetApp could be bundled together and performed at the same time."
"I would like to see better operations, a single pane of glass to manage and monitor the entire design across VMware, Cisco, etc. I would also like the upgrade process to be a little smoother."
"There is always room for improvement. I believe we can do hot swaps on the fly. On the release upgrades, if there was a way to do a release on the fly, that would really be cool because it does take some downtime. It takes restarting. It is more of a software thing. Customers hate doing releases."
"Hardware stability needs improvement. We replaced a lot of RAM this past year. We had to replace the complete blade once after extensive troubleshooting. Any given time, we have approximately one blade down within the entire infrastructure, unfortunately."
"It would be great if it could emulate some of the features that their competitor VMware has, for example port mirroring or Netflow output at hypervisor level."
"AHV is a great hypervisor but still limited compared to VMware. AHV is the one product they must improve."
"As of now, Acropolis and VMware cannot talk to each other. Until we have some kind of interface, it would be much better for Nutanix if they built an interface that can talk. Otherwise, if I have a VMware stack and I already have a Nutanix stack, I can create containers, I create clusters on VMware, I create clusters on Nutanix."
"The licenses for Nutanix are very complicated."
"They could improve the graphical user interface."
"I would like to see them utilize the spare storage that they use as a redundant space. I feel that now a lot of resources are wasted just for standby purposes because we are using data protection. Instead of utilizing those resources only when something happens, they can have an alternative so that we can utilize these resources all the time."
"An area for improvement would be the cyber security features."
"The storage and back-up facilities could be improved. We need day-to-day encrypting of the database."
