Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Efficiently blocks unwanted websites from laptops but also blocks information from the websites
One problem I'm facing with K7 is that if it blacklists a website that I need, I have to ask my admin guy to unblock it. When we whitelist it, I have to manually update my policies on my laptop for the change to take effect. I want it to reflect automatically when something is done from the admin side. I shouldn't have to update K7 case and policy settings manually.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I rate ESET Endpoint Security eight out of 10 for ease of setup. Setting up ESET can be straightforward or complicated depending on the customer's environment. The deployment time varies, but it's typically around five days. We have a team of four or five people involved in the deployment. Only one person is needed for maintenance. The only maintenance is adjusting the configuration of the dashboard."
"It can block certain web pages that may contain viruses or pose a threat to the computer."
"The solution provides good accessibility and is not heavy on resources when there are updates or when it is in operation."
"The software and hardware inventory that you can create by using the console is valuable. It is also very light on hardware resources."
"The most valuable features of this solution are, of course, the IPS/IDS, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus."
"If you are running a small business and don’t need an over-the-top product, ESET is a good product, cost-friendly and easy to manage for a small number of devices on the network, and phone support has been marvelous."
"Technical support has been very good. They're quick to respond to any problems."
"Technical support has been very helpful and responsive."
"It has its own model to decide whether a website is trusted or not."

Cons

"A few times, we have had problems with downloading an agent. We had to try multiple times and multiple uploads."
"If I were in an environment that required a large-scale deployment then I would choose another solution over ESET."
"The scalability could be better."
"They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events. Even though it has already got AI, but it is quite a different thing. So, they still have room to improve on the EDR part. This is one small piece that they need to improve. Otherwise, it is just fine."
"ESET's updates are mostly manual. That's my biggest concern."
"They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events."
"Sometimes it is not running as well. When it actually doesn't work properly, then the whole process of reinstalling it is more or less a tedious task."
"I've had a few other instances where the program stops running, and then you have to restore and reset it."
"But blocking websites also means blocking information."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"As is the general rule with anything, the solution could be cheaper."
"Pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing."
"The pricing is pretty good."
"I'd have to look through my records, however, we paid maybe $600 to $1000 for this product."
"The license is annually, and the price is low compared to competitors."
"The price of the solution is reasonable compared to competitors."
"The cost of the solution is hard to justify even if the EDR operates well."
"There is a license needed to use this solution and there is an annual subscription. The price is inexpensive."
