Monitoring has become centralized and management now sees real‑time health of key network assets
The time investment required is significant, not because of difficulty but because of the need for free time to invest in it. We need to get the knowledge. We know there are many options, but we took an external vendor to install and make the customization. If we want to make others changes without paying for customization, we need to learn it deeply by ourselves. The tutorials are very complicated. They could work on that area. The tutorial part could be more simplified. I know there are many explanations, and you can get help or documents in one click on the current page in the product, but it is not very clear. If you want to do something new that you did not see from the vendor in the installation, it is not very simple. The documents are good for people that know how to operate the product well, but for new users, it is not simple.

Monitors traffic, analyzes flows, tracks packets, and measures bandwidth across our network
We use TruView primarily for network performance analysis and monitoring. It helps us track traffic, flows, packets, and bandwidth to understand our network's condition and detect any anomalies or attacks. However, the product's age limits its advanced features for performance analysis. The main advantage lies in its low cost and reliable functionality, as we have a permanent license and do not require support. Real-time monitoring in TruView is somewhat limited, as there is a delay of about five minutes in data updates, making it less effective for immediate insights.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Generally, I would recommend DX Spectrum because, despite its pricing issue, it is a valuable solution."
"DX Spectrum is a very good solution; it's the best network monitoring tool in the market."
"Spectrum has given us the agility to solve problems faster."
"Thanks to Spectrum, we are able to monitor (and send out alarms for) our whole IT infrastructure 7/24 without having more than a minimal number of technical persons."
"It has a highly scalable architecture that is designed to ensure accommodation of the growing network setup for our client."
"This is a very good, refined product that, in the fault-tolerant configuration, approaches being bulletproof."
"The network monitoring features are the product’s most valuable, due to the lack of these capabilities in any other monitoring tool."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to put health checks in place not only for the infrastructure but for some of the services that are on top of the infrastructure."
"The most valuable feature for us was the ability to monitor sites and get a nice overview of all the data in a single view."
"We use TruView primarily for network performance analysis and monitoring. It helps us track traffic, flows, packets, and bandwidth to understand our network's condition and detect any anomalies or attacks. However, the product's age limits its advanced features for performance analysis. "TruView takes only minutes to install."
"It gives us the ability to determine the root of a problem or a network, whether it's on the network side, the database, application server, or server infrastructure."
"Visual TruView helped our network team respond to potential issues before they became larger ones."

Cons

"I think the management or configuration of devices needs some improvement."
"If the integration is simplified or improved, it will be a unique selling point in comparison to the competition on the market."
"When we have a high capacity of traffic, we have problems with the stability of the system."
"The documentation of this product is not very easy to understand without any screenshots or application windows."
"It takes some time to learn how to use this solution."
"The technical support is average. We've had better support from other companies and also worse support from other companies."
"For small/medium companies, it is still too expensive, making the ideal candidates large enterprises, which would certainly benefit from the ROI within a year."
"The visual is good but it's a little archaic."
"I can't give them quite a 10, because from time to time, I'll work with the folks who, not that they're not good, but there are some who are just phenomenal."
"We have faced delays in data retrieval and the lack of support due to the product being out of service."
"One area that could be improved is the reporting features. In the version transformation from ten to eleven, the platform changed from a Windows-based platform to a Linux-based platform. As a result, the previous reporting feature using Crystal Reports was no longer available. Instead, we had to generate PDF dashboard reports, which were not as flexible."
"Whilst Citrix could be handled better like their nGenius product line (which does an excellent job) it copes with the centralised type of deployment TruView covers."

"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"DX Spectrum's pricing depends on the license number. It is affordable."

"It’s a great tool, but an expensive one. Learn how to use it properly."
"DX Spectrum's pricing is neither expensive nor cheap."
"Spectrum is expensive."
"It is expensive compared to other tools in the market."
