Continuous data protection guarantees data safety during outages and disasters
Based on my experience, I do recommend Dell RecoverPoint to other businesses. The environment requiring Dell RecoverPoint, such as banks or telcos where data equals money, cannot afford to lose data. The overall solution rating is eight, considering the competition from one or two more OEMs giving a tough time to Dell RecoverPoint.

Efficient replication and helpful for improving data processing and management
The technology behind Hitachi ShadowImage has been around for a long time, and while it works correctly, it does have some issues. We have experienced problems with it, even though Hitachi provides good hardware. Technical support could also be improved, as it sometimes takes a few days to resolve issues.

"In terms of operational and financial benefits, in case of any disaster, it can recover."
"It can replicate data from a distant location and it can scan it as well. It has continuous data replication with almost no data loss."
"We use RecoverPoint for disaster recovery and asynchronous replication, and we use the application at a block level, not the software level, and this has been tested and is very durable."
"The most valuable feature of Hitachi ShadowImage is high-speed data transfer from one server to another. Other solutions would have problems with transferring 50 TB of data. I also like that Hitachi ShadowImage is easy to use."
"The most valuable features are its ability to handle large databases efficiently and the asynchronous replication capability."
"To me, the most valuable feature of Hitachi ShadowImage is high-speed data transfer from one server to another."

Cons

"The support is horrible."
