In the enterprise market for disk encryption Credant is worth looking at.
Flexibility of file encryption without the support burden of Full Disk Encryption (FDE) We have a much greater confidence that our data is protected on our portable resources. 5 years + Customer Service: The support engineers are a very smart, capable group. Many have been working with us for…

Security monitoring has improved and protects mission-level mac segments for critical users
Currently, I am not using this because it is mandated on Office 365, which we are not currently maintaining. We are just using the manage feature, so it is not something we control. We are using Cisco SecureClient for VPN. Symantec Endpoint Encryption is only used at the MAC level segment for the B Mission levels for security purposes, and it is only from the ten user perspective. It is straightforward and not complex. I would rate the complexity as a seven, but I would rate the product itself as a nine. We have approximately fifty thousand in budget. Better security methods are valuable features that we can suggest, as everything is under liability. My overall review rating for this solution is nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have a much greater confidence that our data is protected on our portable resources."
"We use it for protecting accounts, which is its most valuable feature."
"I approve of Symantec Endpoint; I've been happy with the solution for the last four or five years, there have been no issues and we have not been compromised until now."
"I used this solution to protect my workstation from malware and other threats such as viruses and worms."
"The stability of the product is very good; there are no bugs or glitches, it does not crash or freeze, and it is reliable."
"I would definitely recommend this solution."
"The solution was stable and did not crash."
"This automated solution puts us at the base level where we can get better."
"The most valuable feature is that it works in the background so that the end-users are not aware of what is happening on the laptop."

Cons

"The SDE encryption which is their "almost FDE" solution can require some tweaking if you have a highly customized desktop with several non-default folders."
"Another improvement that comes to mind is that it could be made much simpler. The user must be able to use it easily and without any hassle."
"The solution does slow down the device a little bit, once it's installed."
"Technical support needs to be better. They need more skilled techs and they need to be faster at responding."
"I think that they should improve the on-premises version to include the manageability and simplicity that is available on the cloud."
"The program's disk encryption is not very friendly with Microsoft OS updates. We have a problem with updates failing unless we use a time-consuming work-around."
"The only improvement would be if the prices of Symantec Endpoint Encryption could be lower to compete better in the market."
"We had approximately 600 users but we migrated to a different solution because of some issues. I can't recommend this product."
"The UI could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We hold an annual license, and their pricing is competitive, falling into the affordable range."

"The cost of this solution is a little on the higher side."
"Depending on how many modules you will use (up to five) the licensing will be more expensive."
"The licensing costs yearly are $5000."
"The license is not very expensive."
"The pricing is fair but there is variability in our area that needs to be addressed."
"Considering the fluctuation in exchange rates in our part of the world, we find it generally affordable."
