Useful for monitoring database activities but improvement is needed in distributor networks
I believe there's room for improvement in their distributor network, especially in Turkey. This is why I was exploring alternatives to DataSunrise Database Security. However, the product itself is quite good. One suggestion for enhancement could be adding an encryption module on top of the masking features, perhaps a more permanent form of preservative encryption. It functions as a proxy for database access. However, this could be an area for improvement. Currently, it doesn't use agents to integrate with databases; instead, all database instances must connect through DataSunrise Database Security as a proxy. While this setup is mostly done on our Windows server, using an agent approach might sometimes be more convenient for companies compared to a proxy approach.

Role-based security has protected structured workloads but integration still needs improvement
I need to check certain aspects at this point as I do not have comments on price or those options at this moment. Support and service level agreements depend more on your agreement with Oracle and your TAT in terms of the agreement type, which has a certain SLA based on that. The overall review rating for this product is seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have a law in Turkey similar to the GDPR in the European Union. It's almost like a replica. Complying with this law is crucial, and the service plays a significant role. Many customer inquiries revolve around not retaining their data. The service addresses this by providing functionality for masking data within the databases. So, if a user requests data deletion, we can remove any information we have on them within the database, ensuring compliance with the law."
"The most valuable feature of DataSunrise Database Security is Dynamic Masking. You don't need to build copies of the database and is highly customizable. It is a very good unique feature. It also has built-in algorithms, or machine learning, which is quite helpful, because it understands the user's behaviors and patterns to apply certain policies."
"The product is fairly easy to implement."
"Oracle Database Vault has been valuable for database security in maritime companies and ports."
"It encrypts data traveling across the network."
"I haven’t seen any other database perform as well as Oracle."
"Oracle Database is one of the most reliable structured databases, making it highly trustworthy."
"The product is easy to use and provides good performance."

"I believe there's room for improvement in their distributor network, especially in Turkey. This is why I was exploring alternatives to DataSunrise Database Security. However, the product itself is quite good. "The integration aspect could be improved through additional APIs to integrate with various SAML protocols and Active Directory protocols, which would be more helpful."
"The solution is relatively expensive."
"The product's cost could be better."
"Oracle's technical support could be improved."
"The solution is excessively expensive. There is a lot of room for improvement, considering the pricing model of the solution."
"Oracle Database Vault is not easy to set up, and if I lose the key, it can lead to significant issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"The product is more costly than its competitors."
