Includes a Grafana dashboard that helps to improve monitoring and reporting
The installation process needs to be improved, and the tool needs a better script. Cloudian HyperIQ runs on Docker containers. Sometimes, the file system gets filled. The tool needs to have separate Docker volumes in the installation script. The documentation for reporting needs to be improved. I am not able to generate reports using it. The alert mechanisms also need to be improved. It should integrate with AI and give more metrics to be taken up next year. We can show the response peak as an improvement to our leadership.

Collaborates performance metrics with log data to pinpoint the exact cause of issues and offers error detection
Splunk APM is a robust tool with many capabilities. There are always areas for potential improvement to enhance its functionality and user experience. For Splunk APM, there could be simplified navigation, like streamlining the user interface to make navigation more intuitive for our users, especially those new to APM, which can enhance usability. We can provide more customization options for dashboards and visualizations to help users tailor the platform to their specific needs. There could be more integration capabilities with a wider range of third-party tools and platforms would also be beneficial. By focusing on these areas, Splunk APM can enhance its value proposition, improve user satisfaction, and better meet the evolving needs of organizations monitoring their application performance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool has a very good interface and helps to monitor the nodes and resources. The most valuable feature is the S3 dashboard. It helps in migration, and we can monitor the data for at least three months."
"The features I have found most valuable are log searching and log analytics, both of which are quick features."
"The best features in Splunk Observability Cloud are the metrics; I can see any logs or anything related to the server or services we want to monitor, and the metrics are a good function."
"This solution is very quick to deploy as it is a SaaS solution and integrates with tools like ServiceNow."
"The feature I find most valuable, is the data integration."
"It's a very easy-to-use solution."
"It's beneficial for monitoring performance and infrastructure, especially when deploying applications with multiple versions with Git."
"The solution overall is very valuable for me."
"Once configured correctly, the analysis reporting the Splunk APM provides is better than that of the other APM tools."

Cons

"The installation process needs to be improved, and the tool needs a better script. We can show the response peak as an improvement to our leadership."
"Primarily, the logs in Splunk APM can be challenging to navigate and comprehend, making it difficult to understand the details within each log. Compared to other tools like LogDNA, which are more intuitive in this aspect, the logs in Splunk APM can require more effort to understand."
"The cardinality is pretty low."
"They can get more integration with a few more products. They can also update some of the dashboards that are in there now."
"A wide variety of logging makes log onboarding difficult."
"They can improve the flow system and the keyword language. It has predefined keywords, but they can be improved."
"The implementation can be more user-friendly."
"Once you see the issues related to the scalability part, you need to understand that it is a warning triangle. After seeing the warning triangle, you need to realize that you cannot trust any of the numbers you see in the chart because it is not a complete, full data set."
"Splunk APM should include a better correlation between resources and infrastructure monitoring."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cloudian HyperIQ's licensing is cheap."
"Splunk offers a 14-day free trial and after that, we have to pay but the cost is reasonable."

"Splunk APM is a very cost-efficient solution."
"The price of Splunk APM is less than some of its competitors."
"It appears to be expensive compared to competitors."
"The product is a bit expensive considering the competition but the company may negotiate the price."
