Message queues have improved fuel station data flow and now provide faster front-end responses
The best features that CloudAMQP offers include handling server setup, RabbitMQ installations, upgrades, patching, maintenance, scaling, and backup. It is a fully managed RabbitMQ, allowing easy scaling without any downtime. CloudAMQP offers strong monitoring and alerting features that make managing the RabbitMQ environment much easier, providing real-time visibility into the queues, messaging rates, consumers, and memory usage through an easy-to-use dashboard. After using CloudAMQP, our efficiency has increased, and the data which is transferring from the fuel station has become easier and faster to communicate with our front-end application. The data which is queued in RabbitMQ is providing the fastest response to the front-end application.

Has faced unexpected VM restarts but continues to deliver messages reliably
I'm not sure if we've utilized IBM MQ's high availability. Our MQ VMs are set up in clusters, and I think our queue managers are set up in pairs. However, I don't know if we actually use any specific high availability features of IBM MQ that are out of the box. We have it architected with high availability because we use F5 load balancers, and everything about our architecture is highly available. I haven't personally used the management tools with IBM MQ, but we do have them, and our middleware folks leverage them. I can't really comment on them because I don't use them myself. I don't think the management tools help optimize message flows, and I'm not really aware of how they help in this. I'm not familiar with dynamic routing for IBM MQ.

Pros

"After using CloudAMQP, our efficiency has increased, and the data which is transferring from the fuel station has become easier and faster to communicate with our front-end application."
"Since using CloudAMQP, my organization has seen a very significant return on investment because there is no data loss, and I can recover the system timely."
"CloudAMQP has positively impacted my organization as I have built an automation for scaling, which has helped the organization benefit from workload distribution and faster processes."
"This product is from IBM which is a very well-known company, and MQ is a reliable, easy to understand and install solution."
"I've used other solutions, but the most valuable features of this solution are the search capabilities, consolidating the data and searching through the data."
"It has definitely brought a lot of benefit into our organization, especially when you talk about applications talking to each other."
"I'd advise new users to try it out as it is easy to integrate, scalable, and stable."
"This product has helped integrate between applications, reduce rework, and costs by reusing working components of existing applications, such as mainframe applications."
"IBM MQ is more reliable and secure than other software."
"It is easy to create a new queue, and the queue manager connecting to the remote queue works smoothly once the IP and port are included."
"RabbitMQ and Kafka require more steps for setup than IBM MQ, and installation of the IBM product is very simple."

Cons

"CloudAMQP can be improved, as sometimes while upgrading, for instance, if I am running a Big Bunny cluster and want to upgrade to Happy Hour, there is a lag or slowness while upgrading from one queue to another."
"CloudAMQP can be improved as the pricing is a bit high, and if that could be reduced, it would be a great tool."
"CloudAMQP can be improved in a few ways, such as lowering the pricing at scale and keeping the pricing structure simpler."
"I would just like a more user-friendly experience to do common administration tasks. I know that you can use MQ Explorer, but having something that's already built in would definitely be useful."
"We have used the technical support, but we are more concerned about the response time."
"The solution requires a lot of work to implement and maintain."
"The main issue we are having with the solution is due to the connection dropouts which have been going on for a long time now."
"Lately, it hasn't been that stable. We're using multi-instance queue managers and we're having a lot of issues with storage and that affects the availability of the queue manager."
"Presenting and maybe having some different options for different user experiences based on the administrative duties that you have to do as an app manager or configure the server or security would be an improvement."
"For now, we just use the command line when we go in the log directory for each queue manager. It's not very, very easy to operate."
"Price is one thing that could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"99.999 percent availability for less than a penny per message over the past 25 years. IBM MQ is the cheapest software in the IBM software portfolio, and it is one of the best."
"The pricing needs improvement."
"IBM is expensive."
"It is a licensed product. As compared to an open-source solution, such as RabbitMQ, it is obviously costly. If you're using IBM Message Broker, which is a licensed product, IBM MQ is included in the same license. You don't have to pay separately for IBM MQ. The license cost of IBM MQ is lesser than IBM Message Broker."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool's price a seven. The product is expensive."
"This solution requires a license and we have purchased an enterprise license."
"IBM MQ has a flexible license model based on the Processor Value Unit (PVU) and I recommend it."
"It's super expensive, so ask them if they can consolidate some other licensing costs. But, IBM is IBM, so I guess we'll pay for it."
