The primary use case for Cisco Secure Client, including AnyConnect, is as a VPN for remote access I use AnyConnect because I have Cisco infrastructure. It utilizes certificates, which allows for automatic setup. The security features are beneficial, and the whole idea of the app is that it should…

Offers a user-friendly UI and remote access of PCs to users
The product's initial setup phase was a little bit complex because there was a need to work on the configuration part. For the deployment process, you need access to an executable file, which can be a .ASA file, along with a configuration file to edit. When you open the application, you have to put in the config file in the software and then run it to make it work. The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. The solution can be deployed in a few hours. If you have some assistance from the IT service or IT team, the deployment can be done within a few hours.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client's most valuable feature is the ability to connect to our enterprise applications, on-premise applications, and cloud any place in the world"
"Based on my experience, I would recommend Cisco Secure Client (including AnyConnect) to other people without any doubt."
"It's a very scalable solution. We are using the maximum licensing they offer, and it's very affordable given the value."
"It utilizes certificates, which allows for automatic setup."
"Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client provides a secure way for users to access our systems remotely."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"The most useful feature of Cisco Secure Client is the capability for any kind of VPN, facilitating remote connections in the network."
"Configuration policy, posture assessment, and other things can be done in great detail."
"We use the solution to connect to our internal infrastructure in our data center."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its stability and user-friendly UI."

Cons

"Every two weeks there was a new version to install which was annoying for the users."
"You do need technical expertise to set up the product."
"I would like a faster connection from the solution."
"It would be useful to have an automatic install process where if you connect and you don't have the latest version, it should be automatically done."
"More frequent updates would be ideal."
"The notifications need to be improved. If the VPN is disconnected for a long period of time, they should push out notifications. We need to manually check if the VPN is connected or not. Sometimes it automatically disconnects, but the user doesn't get notifications, and we need to troubleshoot or open the client to manually reconnect. Auto-reconnection would be an improvement."
"All Cisco equipment tends to be expensive compared to newer options from other vendors."
"They can redesign the reset password, reset function, and user interface."
"The product's initial setup phase is not straightforward, making it an area where improvements are required."
"I would like to get less updates from the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It costs around 80,000 Indian rupees for a hundred licenses, so approximately $1,020 USD."
"One thing I've noticed is the price in comparison to other VPNs."
"We have yearly licensing and it's very affordable."
"The initial cost is the ASA and other items, but after that, it is relatively inexpensive."
"The licensing costs are reasonable."
"We are in the North African region, and Cisco products are expensive for us. On a scale from one to ten with one being very affordable and ten being expensive, I'd rate the price at eight."
"I am using a paid version of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client."
"Sometimes there is a problem with the number of licenses for the end-user. The number of concurrent users is limited due to a valid license."
