We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
"I like that it's fairly easy to implement these ethernet switches.""The thing that sets Juniper apart from most switches is that when you're in the command line and you make a configuration change, you just write the command and then say "commit confirmed minutes". For example, I'm configuring a switch here in my office, which is five miles away, and I say, "commit confirmed 5". If I can't get back to the interface within five minutes to be able to make sure the switch came up, it rolls back to the previous configuration. This way I do not get locked out, or the switch doesn't get messed up because of the incorrect configuration. That's an automatic feature, which is pretty slick. I haven't seen that feature with other vendors that I've worked with. That's probably my most favorite feature.""The solution has a high level of network functionality.""The security is good.""The combination of hardware and software makes it a very good solution. It is a modern protocol that they have supported in the switches. The solution has good performance.""It is stable.""The feature I like the most is the ability to reword changes before committing to the change. We can always reword changes in 10 minutes if they don't work.""The most valuable feature is switching on our network."

"We have found the stability to be excellent.""The solution is very flexible.""Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches have a good interface, and the documentation is detailed.""The solution is stable and reliable.""I have found the solution has great standards and compatibility across all vendors.""Cisco Linksys is scalable. You can use it as an extender, too.""The solution is stable.""They are very reliable."

"You can access a single pane of glass and configure all the devices via the same access.""I like that I can patch and manage them remotely from the user portal.""The most valuable features are the cloud and throughput visibility, the ease of configuration, and being able to implement them into our umbrella DNS solution.""The most valuable feature about Meraki is the console. The second most valuable feature, to me, is the technical support and the infrastructure behind the console.""The main features of Meraki MS Switches are integration, high quality, and hardware guarantee.""The dashboard and the interface, in general, are good features.""Quality of Service is easy to deploy. The ease of deployment, in general, is valuable. It is easy to do port configuration and VLAN assignments.""We find value in its ability to enable cloud management and visibility. They are also easy to deploy. It's very convenient because you can see who is accessing, what type of UI system they're using, what applications they're using, the bandwidth, and more."

"The stability could be better. We find, for example, Cisco, to be more stable.""Wireless and monitoring definitely could be improved.""More security could be provided, especially with the rising cyber-attacks in business organizations.""Stability could be better, especially during a reboot. We have had some issues recently with the software getting corrupt on reboot, which causes a lot of downtime.""The packet channelizing feature should be improved.""We would like it if there was more security added in future releases.""Has a steep learning curve.""Juniper Ethernet Switches would be improved by upgrading the uplink port in EX2300 categories service from 10G to 25G."

More Juniper Ethernet Switches Cons →

"We are using an old version of this solution and it could be more stable.""The sales support could improve, they are not supplying the solution on time. For some projects, we have had to wait many months.""Their price is quite high compared to their competitors.""We'd prefer if the product, in general, was easier to use. It can be a bit difficult.""It's no longer stable, the Wi-Fi on this device is no longer stable.""They just need to simplify the learning curve.""The documentation should be improved from Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches. Although it hints or refers to being able to do certain operations, they try to get you to load the software instead. They need to be more open with their documentation on using the web interface and give the client the option to use the software or not. This improvement is not on the switch itself, it is in the packaging.""Linksys support is subpar."

More Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches Cons →

"Licensing is the only thing I can complain about. It's expensive, but everything is these days.""On the switches, I don't know a whole lot that I would change. Different levels of switches have different layer 2 and layer 3 functionality. It's always nice to have layer 3 functionality across the board if you can, but that drives up the cost. They've got different lines for different amounts of layer 3 functionality. However, on their models that do include full layer 3 access, when you choose to use layer 3 on a switch, it doesn't have the full functioning routing capabilities of an MX firewall. It can be limiting in some of those aspects.""We had some dashboard licensing issues, maybe because their method of collecting data from the user needs to be more streamlined.""The scalability and integrative abilities with on-premises systems could stand improvement.""The price for this product could be cheaper. For a low-budget school or institution, scaling up and implementing more switches could take longer because of budget constraints.""The throughputs, especially the throughput path, can be improved on the core switches. I think they should improve the throughput in the core switches to enable higher throughputs.""The troubleshooting could be better.""I don't like some of the mobile device management options. They're a little bit hard to find in the system."

    Reviews from Real Users

Meraki MS Switches is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are its accessibility, application visibility, and flexibility features.

Jóhann T., IT Manager at Sund Upper Secondary School, says, “Accessibility is what I find most valuable in Meraki MS Switches, because I'm able to check things and see if they're working, without being on-site at all times.”

A Senior Network Engineer at a tech services company mentions, "The top feature of Meraki MS switches for me is Layer 7 application visibility. Another positive in general is that you don't need to set up a console to the switch itself; it dials into a single dashboard where you can completely manage all your network devices."

John M., user at Baseline Consulting, LLC, comments, "I like the flexibility of the Meraki firewall. It gives you the ability to lock things down. Having multiple VLANs is helpful for the switching infrastructure and firewall. It's crucial when you have a public-facing VLAN, a private-facing VLAN, and a secure VLAN."

PeerSpot user William M., Consulting Engineer at IV4, expresses, "It is easy to deploy, maintain, and update. It has been trouble-free so far. I am still a Cisco command-line bigot, but the web interface makes it a lot easier for our help desk to interact with a client. When the clients call in and say that they aren't able to connect, it takes the help desk 10 minutes or less to look at everything in the enterprise or location. They can look at the firewall, switches, or access points in the dashboard. That's why I like the dashboard."
