Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Secure data transfers and reliable remote connectivity have strengthened infrastructure
Check Point Remote Access VPN helps me secure and protect my data. If a remote user's device has a vulnerability, the VPN helps. It is very reliable and cost-effective. It keeps my data protected so no one can breach it. There is no interception between the two channels, from the user to the data center, when the VPN tunnel is established with Check Point. Check Point also has a high rate of threat prevention, so I really trust it in this case. I have noticed that my data is now more secure and reliable when accessed from a remote location. This is an issue that it has resolved for my data center.

Good remote services feature and easy to setup
With LogMeIn Pro, we could connect up to 10 computers, and having an option for something in between would be good. Like, we went from 10 to the next level, which was around 50 or so. If there was a tier, perhaps around 20, that I would have probably purchased, and it would have been a better fit for what I needed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Being able to manage the devices remotely is most valuable. We can push security requirements through Microsoft Intune."
"The synchronization of Intune with other Microsoft solutions is a valuable feature."
"The Autopilot feature is the most valuable because it saves significant time on managing devices."
"The Microsoft Windows Autopilot and Defender policies are the most valuable features of this solution."
"Fortunately, now everything is streamlined into a single, unified platform."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is patching-related capabilities."
"I particularly appreciate the administration and security features, which can be deployed easily."
"Microsoft Intune has helped us by improving our security posture, leading to fewer security problems, and helping us understand where we have issues."
"Access is browser-based only and requires no additional client installation."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted my organization by greatly increasing productivity because users are now working from anywhere, and even during leave, they can easily work at any time."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted my organization because we can connect our resources remotely with a secure network and secure channel."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted our organization by allowing easier management of remote users, and it also gives us better insight into logging behind the scenes."
"It can improve an organization by providing secure access to resources for traveling employees, which can help to reduce the risk of data breaches or other security incidents."
"The tool is easy to configure and use. We integrated it with Active Directory to manage user authentication. It's intuitive and transparent, making it simple for users to use. It connects automatically to the VPN whenever users turn on the laptop. The product is efficient and offers centralized control."
"The biggest advantage of Check Point Remote Access VPN is that we already use the Check Point firewall. We only needed to enable the feature and do the configuration in order to enable the VPN feature. We didn't need to buy or manage new hardware. This was a big advantage."
"For a basic setup, implementation is quite easy."
"They recently included the Kaspersky Security Suite as part of their Central Product."
"It must have been straightforward. My IT person set it up for me. It is a friendly program."
"The most valuable feature is having it in a central location, all the different groups, and being able to ad-hoc or at will log on to whichever computer system I need to get to from a central spot."
"It's even simple to remotely add a computer to our group. We can send a link to that computer and they just follow the prompts on the screen and they are ready to go - we can access it. It's very user-friendly."
"The remote connection is the most valuable, but we also use it for file transfer, that would be probably the second most valuable. The remote connection is a major time saver, it saves us from having to drive to each location."
"You don't have to remember the password and the login all the time. Once you get it in there, it's in there, and you can go about your business."
"Being able to remote access my computer means I can work at night from my house."
"The remote services feature is definitely the most valuable, along with the capability to print remotely."

Cons

"The installation could be improved to be simplified."
"The solution could be improved by the opportunity to connect third-party application databases, such as Chocolatey or another setup store, to Intune."
"Intune could be enhanced by automating application upgrades, similar to how it automates operating system upgrades."
"There are items that require improvements. One is the controls from iOS."
"The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market."
"Intune should improve its software inventory to provide better metering of which software is used throughout the company. This is especially needed for reporting third-party software solutions."
"The reporting functionality of Microsoft Intune is limited compared to Microsoft System Center, which offers many more reporting options."
"In future releases, I would like to see better integration with Apple products."
"The fully-featured security module is only supported on Windows and Mac systems, which means that organizations with Linux will face issues providing secure access."
"We would like to implement HTML5 (clientless access) in the product without installing any additional software."
"Our key technical supports come during hours that are not aligned with our working hours, which sometimes affects our access to support."
"The interface itself needs improvement. When you need to create something, you have to go through a lot of steps. It needs to be simplified."
"I cannot see the full effect of the endpoint solution because it relies on having access to the DNF queries, which might not go through the Check Point firewall when you're using it for perimeter networks. Check Point will not identify the actual source of the net queries. This may be related to the architecture, however, and not poor product issues. I don't know if it can be improved on the Check Point side or not."
"Sometimes it will be disconnected, but it's a good solution."
"Automations for cloud integrations need to be expanded, and currently, developers have to manually configure APIs, which is not developer-centric."
"Sometimes the application slows down the computing device, and this affects workflows."
"It's never cheap enough. If we got it for free, that would be perfect. But I know it's not and won't be free. It's always going to be too expensive for me because we're a small company."
"At certain times of the day, during the "rush hour," it's very slow. I don't know if it's the latency of the internet or the amount of people on it in the afternoon at 4:00, 5:00pm. Getting data transferred takes a longer time than other times of the day."
"It would be helpful if there were more things that you could do outside of having to log into the machine, such as being able to raise a command line and reboot the computer if, for whatever reason, it doesn't want to let me in."
"With Windows 10 we've had some issues with it crashing, and certain antivirus products cause it to fail. For the most part it's stable, but we do have an occasional crash mainly related to new operating systems. The new Microsoft Server and the new Windows operating systems sometimes have issues with it. But for the most part, in anything under, say, Windows 7, Windows 8, those seem to be pretty stable, and with the Microsoft Server 2012 and below, it's all stable. And I don't necessarily think it's LogMeIn. I think it may be Microsoft, to be honest with you."
"I would enhance the product, so if I had two screens in front of me, it could connect to two computers simultaneously with the program. For example, if I had a computer at location A and a computer at location B and I am sitting at location C, it might be nice for me to be able to be connected to all three of those computers and move data between those three during one session. "
"The only issue is that they could have a tier between 10 seats and 50."
"The high pricing of the product is its only shortcoming that needs improvement."
"Remote Access for external and internal customers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Previously the price was $4 per month per user. Now it's $2.25 per user per month."
"It is not expensive."
"Its licensing model is not complex, but it is very expensive compared to other solutions. They can bring more models and reduce the pricing. They should allow customers to select the features they want and price it accordingly."
"Generally, we get favorable discounts, so it's not too bad. Obviously, we're looking at decreasing those wherever we can to bring value back to the public purse because it's all charity based. It's all publicly funded."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"I am satisfied with the pricing."
"We use Defender ATP and E5 licenses."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Regarding pricing, as a global customer, we get a big discount. For us, it's a good return on investment. We need to pay for additional features we want to enable. It seems cheaper than other vendors, but I can't say what it would cost an average customer."
"I can say that the licensing costs are charged annually."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is not expensive and the cost is annual."
"Organizations that already have the Check Point NGFW need to purchase an additional license to have access to the VPN functionality."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"My understanding is that the pricing and licensing are very competitive, and it's not one of their more expensive products. We buy licenses for the solution and have licenses for the endpoint servers."
"I give the price of the solution a five out of ten."
"I did not deal with the financial aspect but my impression is that they are more expensive."
"It is expensive, but in the long run we still come out ahead, because it saves us so much labor and downtime driving from one location to the other. In the end it's well worth the expense."
"My company needs to make annual payments toward the licensing cost of the product. There are no extra costs in addition to the standard license fees of the product."
"I think it's competitively priced. I haven't priced it out since we started with it, but the yearly subscription fee is worth it. It's not outrageous, and I believe that it's worth it for our company to pay the fees for the use of the product."
"It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."
"I am very happy to say that I have been very satisfied with the LogMeIn product, except for the escalation of the price. "
"It is very good."
"Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
