Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Secure data transfers and reliable remote connectivity have strengthened infrastructure
Check Point Remote Access VPN helps me secure and protect my data. If a remote user's device has a vulnerability, the VPN helps. It is very reliable and cost-effective. It keeps my data protected so no one can breach it. There is no interception between the two channels, from the user to the data center, when the VPN tunnel is established with Check Point. Check Point also has a high rate of threat prevention, so I really trust it in this case. I have noticed that my data is now more secure and reliable when accessed from a remote location. This is an issue that it has resolved for my data center.

Good remote services feature and easy to setup
With LogMeIn Pro, we could connect up to 10 computers, and having an option for something in between would be good. Like, we went from 10 to the next level, which was around 50 or so. If there was a tier, perhaps around 20, that I would have probably purchased, and it would have been a better fit for what I needed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The technical support of Microsoft Intune is good."
"It is a very helpful solution."
"When a user receives the machine, sets it up, and turns it on, it connects to the domain and begins installing software, becoming ready within approximately half an hour, which represents a significant time savings for IT departments."
"The biggest benefit for me in Microsoft Intune is control; I can control my users and what they can do and enforce the policies that I want to enforce, and it is a great tool to control and put structure to take the organization to the place I want to take it."
"Microsoft Intune not only saves costs by reducing the number of personnel needed but also offers a comprehensive solution for managing laptops, applications, security, individual access, and enrollment."
"Third party integrations are very convenient to use with Microsoft Intune."
"These capabilities have made a significant impact in my work, providing a comprehensive view of all devices and features in a single platform."
"The solution is easy to use."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is a stable solution."
"Setup using the manuals was easy."
"A single login based on a second authentication factor is giving us the possibility of integrating third-party services for authentication based on a security scheme."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted my organization by improving productivity and given us a workaround in times of downtime."
"Access is browser-based only and requires no additional client installation."
"Check Point has been perfect for protecting us from any type of attack or data theft during remote management."
"It is easy to install the Endpoint Remote Access VPN client on different platforms."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has made my job easier because I don't need to worry about reaching the organization office and connecting to servers, as I am now free to work from anywhere and able to access the server securely and seamlessly."
"They recently included the Kaspersky Security Suite as part of their Central Product."
"Technical support was able to address everything that I asked in a timely, responsible, satisfactory manner."
"I can use it for training, which I have done. As a person sits in front of the computer they can watch what I do, or I can watch what they do."
"It's the only product I need to be able to get to my office Outlook, to get my emails off that particular computer. Going the other way, sometimes I'll go to my home computer to do adjustments to my accounting system there."
"I can connect to them remotely and do all the functions I would have to do by manually driving to them, so it does make things a lot easier."
"The most valuable feature is having it in a central location, all the different groups, and being able to ad-hoc or at will log on to whichever computer system I need to get to from a central spot."
"The remote services feature is definitely the most valuable, along with the capability to print remotely."
"I would tell others who are looking into this solution that I feel that it's a secure solution. I never had any issues with its security element. I think that it's very simple to use. I think it is user-friendly, and you can work between computers pretty well on it."

Cons

"The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me."
"It would be awesome if Microsoft opened their API so we could filter more properties. If we have to do anything outside of Intune that requires a third-party solution to talk back to it, we're very limited in what we can do."
"I would like to see micro VPN. I like the way that some of the other providers have done something similar where, as you open that app on an end-point device, it creates a micro VPN straight into your device, which is quite a nice little feature. Also, Microsoft Intune relies heavily on its fellow products in the suite. It would be nice if Microsoft Intune could stand on its own two feet."
"Some enrollment features could be improved."
"While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users."
"The biggest problem we ever have is when something goes out of date after 30 days when nobody has logged into it. We do have a problem trying to get those back online. We've been working with Microsoft to resolve that problem, but that's been the only issue that we've had in the last few years."
"I, as such, do not have any specific inputs or needs. However, there is always room for improvement when it comes to scalability."
"Microsoft Intune's app deployment presents challenges for non-MSI and non-store apps, particularly EXEs, requiring the use of a Win32 wrapper tool and adding overhead to the process."
"Connection of devices from various locations is efficient though there are a few challenges when there is a network failure."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN's current configuration has some limitations and issues. One major drawback is the inability to configure multiple gateways from the same management server for VPN access."
"There is always room for innovation and the addition of new features."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN can be improved in throughput, as when multiple users are connected through the Remote Access VPN, there can be an issue where only a single user can access our single servers, which needs to be resolved."
"The maximum it is giving us is only 5 licenses and if you need more, they must be purchased separately."
"Some areas where Check Point Remote Access VPN can be improved include the licensing complexity and configured conditions."
"Improved scalability would allow the solution to handle larger numbers of users and devices without a significant impact on performance."
"The non-standard setup is quite complex as you have to do changes via GUI and CLI."
"The only issue is that they could have a tier between 10 seats and 50."
"As far as the usability of it, I'd like to see if printing could be enabled in the basic version or the medium version. Some of the remote printing isn't available unless you go to the premium versions, and that's disappointing."
"With Windows 10 we've had some issues with it crashing, and certain antivirus products cause it to fail. For the most part it's stable, but we do have an occasional crash mainly related to new operating systems. The new Microsoft Server and the new Windows operating systems sometimes have issues with it. But for the most part, in anything under, say, Windows 7, Windows 8, those seem to be pretty stable, and with the Microsoft Server 2012 and below, it's all stable. And I don't necessarily think it's LogMeIn. I think it may be Microsoft, to be honest with you."
"Remote Access for external and internal customers."
"It does go down sometimes. You try to login, it tells you the workdesk computer is not available. It does kick you off a lot."
"Everything has to be done over the web, via email, or something like that. You can't talk to a human being. That bothers me a lot."
"Maybe they can come up with a plan if you only use it for login and, occasionally, printing. Maybe you can charge what you used to charge and then if we want to use it for files or things that are more sophisticated, charge a little more."
"At certain times of the day, during the "rush hour," it's very slow. I don't know if it's the latency of the internet or the amount of people on it in the afternoon at 4:00, 5:00pm. Getting data transferred takes a longer time than other times of the day."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based."
"Microsoft's licensing is more flexible and adaptive than its competitors."
"There is a license needed for this solution and it is either included in one of the enterprise license agreements. Microsoft licensing is a mathematical institute, it could be quite complex. We tend to ask specialized organizations to research what the most profitable way it would be for us to use licenses in the organizations."
"There is a license needed to use the solution and we are on an annual license."
"Its pricing seems reasonable."
"Microsoft Intune is reasonably priced for large organizations that already have Microsoft Enterprise licenses, but it is less affordable for smaller businesses."
"The solution is cost-efficient."
"The pricing for Microsoft Intune is reasonable. Our clients are satisfied."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is not expensive and the cost is annual."
"My understanding is that the pricing and licensing are very competitive, and it's not one of their more expensive products. We buy licenses for the solution and have licenses for the endpoint servers."
"I give the price of the solution a five out of ten."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"My company makes yearly payments only towards the licensing costs attached to Check Point Remote Access VPN, as there are no extra costs attached to the product."
"Regarding pricing, as a global customer, we get a big discount. For us, it's a good return on investment. We need to pay for additional features we want to enable. It seems cheaper than other vendors, but I can't say what it would cost an average customer."
"I can say that the licensing costs are charged annually."
"It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."
"Pricing is what I'm upset with. Now, that they bought everybody up, the price doubled."
"Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
"It is very good."
"To be honest with you, I use it just for login and the prices are getting too high so we're going to look for an alternative solution. It used to be a couple of hundred dollars a year, now it's like $600 a year. We're definitely going to be switching shortly. Every year they have significant increases."
"It is expensive, but in the long run we still come out ahead, because it saves us so much labor and downtime driving from one location to the other. In the end it's well worth the expense."
"If you subscribe the package of 100 Agents, but install 5, you are still paying for the 100 agent package."
"Lower the price for an individual user. "
