Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Secure data transfers and reliable remote connectivity have strengthened infrastructure
Check Point Remote Access VPN helps me secure and protect my data. If a remote user's device has a vulnerability, the VPN helps. It is very reliable and cost-effective. It keeps my data protected so no one can breach it. There is no interception between the two channels, from the user to the data center, when the VPN tunnel is established with Check Point. Check Point also has a high rate of threat prevention, so I really trust it in this case. I have noticed that my data is now more secure and reliable when accessed from a remote location. This is an issue that it has resolved for my data center.

Good remote services feature and easy to setup
With LogMeIn Pro, we could connect up to 10 computers, and having an option for something in between would be good. Like, we went from 10 to the next level, which was around 50 or so. If there was a tier, perhaps around 20, that I would have probably purchased, and it would have been a better fit for what I needed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"First of all, the integration with the rest of Microsoft's products is a major win."
"Microsoft Intune is the best solution available; we can connect with any device and handle all queries, which sets it apart from other tools available in the market."
"The biggest benefits of Intune are the ability to push changes and the added security. When we moved forward with Defender, we onboarded all those machines automatically. That helps dramatically. For a while, we were left with machines that weren't protected. We could see where people had done things they shouldn't have done, and Defender saved our skins a few times. It didn't happen a lot, but it happened enough that it made us glad we made that decision."
"Intune has significantly benefited our organization by providing comprehensive visibility into our device ecosystem."
"We have not experienced any bugs or glitches with this solution."
"I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management."
"The most useful features in Microsoft Intune are the policy enforcement and conditional access."
"It's cloud-based with no need for on-premise infrastructure, you can access it anywhere and start working on it, and you will have the record of data in your hand anytime if you need it quickly."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted my organization by making remote work much smoother because people can connect securely from anywhere, and we've had fewer access issues during busy periods."
"After deploying Check Point Remote Access VPN, the ease of doing work from anywhere has resolved our challenges."
"It can improve an organization by providing secure access to resources for traveling employees, which can help to reduce the risk of data breaches or other security incidents."
"The tool is easy to configure and use. We integrated it with Active Directory to manage user authentication. It's intuitive and transparent, making it simple for users to use. It connects automatically to the VPN whenever users turn on the laptop. The product is efficient and offers centralized control."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN helps me secure and protect my data; if a remote user's device has a vulnerability, the VPN helps, as it is very reliable and cost-effective and keeps my data protected so no one can breach it."
"Organizations that already use the Check Point NGFW Solution do not require any additional hardware, which makes the implementation straightforward and reduces the time to go live."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted our organization by allowing easier management of remote users, and it also gives us better insight into logging behind the scenes."
"The policies are easy to use."
"The remote services feature is definitely the most valuable, along with the capability to print remotely."
"This is a very reliable product and I've never had it crash."
"I can login to my office computer, go into all of my software, and work from a remote location."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"They recently included the Kaspersky Security Suite as part of their Central Product."
"You don't have to remember the password and the login all the time. Once you get it in there, it's in there, and you can go about your business."
"User interface."
"The biggest thing is the flexibility, you can use it as long as you can get an internet connection. You can use it pretty much anywhere you're at. It just makes it a lot easier. We are a small staff, and if nobody is in the office, LogMeIn gives us secure access to get in there."

Cons

"We would like to see the ability to use multiple personas on a device, similar to Samsung Knox, included in future updates."
"The Mac integration has room for improvement."
"The solution requires Mac support."
"We are currently unable to control aspects of group policy from Teams like we can for GPO. They are still not part of Intune. Microsoft is adding this, but it's currently in preview, and few GPO features have been added to the product."
"Historically, Group Policy has simplified the management of various items, such as printer and drive mappings and while Intune offers workarounds, it lacks native support for these functionalities."
"I would like more clarity on how Intune is migrating control from Active Directory group policies, especially as we move over to Windows 11. It seems inefficient to manage some settings in Active Directory and others in Intune."
"The configuration could be better by consolidating options and making it simpler."
"The UI is not user-friendly and has room for improvement."
"The support hours don't align with work hours, and AI could be introduced."
"The connection has gotten less smooth as the number of users increases. The issue is that the logs fill up quickly. Too many users are connecting remotely. It worked great when we only had a few remote connections. Now, it is disconnecting people and dropping the internet connection."
"They need to increase their timeout. Right now, it will fail after ten seconds, however, it shouldn't fail until after 20. If you don't get on your phone right away and check on your authentications, it will kick you out."
"The interface itself needs improvement. When you need to create something, you have to go through a lot of steps. It needs to be simplified."
"There needs to be a way to create a VPN client specific to our environment so that we can easily lock down who can connect."
"There are some issues with the Check Point VPN, such as its complexity compared to other VPN clients."
"I would like this service to be easier to manage when you integrate it with third parties."
"Check Point should provide a feature in the management server. When we create a VPN, it should allow for posture checking of the laptop for compliance."
"With Windows 10 we've had some issues with it crashing, and certain antivirus products cause it to fail. For the most part it's stable, but we do have an occasional crash mainly related to new operating systems. The new Microsoft Server and the new Windows operating systems sometimes have issues with it. But for the most part, in anything under, say, Windows 7, Windows 8, those seem to be pretty stable, and with the Microsoft Server 2012 and below, it's all stable. And I don't necessarily think it's LogMeIn. I think it may be Microsoft, to be honest with you."
"The high pricing of the product is its only shortcoming that needs improvement."
"It does go down sometimes. You try to login, it tells you the workdesk computer is not available. It does kick you off a lot."
"At certain times of the day, during the "rush hour," it's very slow. I don't know if it's the latency of the internet or the amount of people on it in the afternoon at 4:00, 5:00pm. Getting data transferred takes a longer time than other times of the day."
"The only issue is that they could have a tier between 10 seats and 50."
"It would be helpful if there were more things that you could do outside of having to log into the machine, such as being able to raise a command line and reboot the computer if, for whatever reason, it doesn't want to let me in."
"It's never cheap enough. If we got it for free, that would be perfect. But I know it's not and won't be free. It's always going to be too expensive for me because we're a small company."
"I would enhance the product, so if I had two screens in front of me, it could connect to two computers simultaneously with the program. For example, if I had a computer at location A and a computer at location B and I am sitting at location C, it might be nice for me to be able to be connected to all three of those computers and move data between those three during one session. "

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"Intune is inexpensive. It also comes bundled in some Office 365 licenses, so you can choose to purchase it separately or as a package."
"Previously the price was $4 per month per user. Now it's $2.25 per user per month."
"While I can't provide insights from a business perspective, it's worth noting that the pricing may differ significantly, and the discount we received might not be reflective of standard business rates."
"The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
"The overall pricing of Microsoft Intune is good for companies that have big IT budgets, 3,000 or more users and devices."
"The licensing costs we leave up to the customer and these vary from one to another."
"There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
"My company makes yearly payments only towards the licensing costs attached to Check Point Remote Access VPN, as there are no extra costs attached to the product."
"The solution is pretty expensive. The rating is an eight."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is not expensive and the cost is annual."
"The price of this product is good."
"I can say that the licensing costs are charged annually."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"I give the price of the solution a five out of ten."
"We're paying $839 a year, so we're paying about $70 a month. We're using the smallest version of Pro."
"It's pretty fair for up to five computers I think (it might be three - it's either three or five). After that, it gets a little expensive, so if they could get a little bit more aggressive on how many computers you can add in, that would be great."
"I have a tiered pricing. If I wanted to subscribe for three years, I will get a discount for that."
"Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
"It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."
"To be honest with you, I use it just for login and the prices are getting too high so we're going to look for an alternative solution. It used to be a couple of hundred dollars a year, now it's like $600 a year. We're definitely going to be switching shortly. Every year they have significant increases."
"It is expensive, but in the long run we still come out ahead, because it saves us so much labor and downtime driving from one location to the other. In the end it's well worth the expense."
"The company does not scale the price based upon use."
