Has reliable technical support and good stability
From my experience using Bosch, I would recommend it to somebody considering it. I would rate it an eight out of ten. There are better solutions on the market. To make it a perfect ten, they should improve the price. There is a learning curve and sometimes there are issues from the software.

Reduces costs with hardware abstraction and simplifies scaling
There is an issue where, in some situations, I need to scale up by observing both CPU and memory usage of containers, yet under the current options available at Amazon, this is not possible. I have to choose between monitoring CPU or memory to scale my solution. Not every software is built for deployment as a container service, although the current architecture trend is changing this.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We contact their customer support often. They are very good and reliable."
"It has been a stable solution so far since it meets our needs, including data modeling, which we need to do before we embark on analyzing and optimizing the business processes."
"The headless nature of the Camunda Platform is something that has helped us to build our own logic and platforms on it."
"It is an absolutely stable solution."
"The most valuable features are that it's lightweight, can be embedded in existing Java code, and keeps track of the workflow state and the instances that we need."
"I love that Camunda is a very developer-friendly platform, and my customers have evaluated the pricing as reasonable."
"We have been able to save costs using this solution compared to the product we used before."
"It's user friendly, much better than most tools I have seen."
"The most valuable features are the management of internal processes, the ability to execute from design and the model for internal processes, the ability to make processes visible, and the ability to have information about the current state of each instance."

Cons

"There are better solutions on the market. To make it a perfect ten, they should improve the price. There is a learning curve and sometimes there are issues from the software."
"There are a few things that I'm missing. For instance, the user interface creator, which I know other systems have, like Aurea or Lombardi, which are IBM solutions. The interface creator, including the data model creator or some module which would allow the users who are not programmers or business consultants and who are not technically skilled in database and Java programming, to create data models and user interfaces."
"Camunda Platform's customer support could be improved because their response is quite slow."
"It is not difficult to change existing processes. The difficulty was in integration, for example, to call an external web API, and in the security capabilities, to use a vault for secrets. That was difficult."
"The support offered by the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"If they could build some scripts or some configuration to get it up and running in a Docker environment, that would be good. I didn't find anything when on Docker, however, maybe they have something and I didn't see it yet."
"I think it would be important to internationalize the Cockpit and the Admin as well as with the Tasklist."
"The primary issue regarding the Camuto platform is its high cost of training. This is why I haven't discussed it extensively, as compared to other products that are more affordable in terms of developer training."
"In terms of features, it meets my needs, but I would like Camunda to have an office in Brazil and provide training in Portuguese. They should provide regional support and training courses in Portuguese."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I think Camunda BPM can improve their licensing costs. It isn't easy to find clients with Camunda BPM licenses mainly because it's quite expensive."
"The product is expensive for a small or medium-sized company."
"It is good for a startup. When we started, its price was fair, but the way we are using it to orchestrate microservices makes it expensive. When you are growing as a company, you would have more microservices, and you would have more users. There is an exponential effect when you are growing in terms of the number of conditions, processes, and users because they bill you per process. So, the price was increasing very quickly for us, and it was very difficult."
"We use the free version."
"There is an open-source version available, that in its core features (workflow and decision engine, modeler) is exactly the same as in the enterprise version."
"The license is quite expensive, which is why we went with the community version."
"There is a bit of scope for improvement in how the licensing and pricing are done. They are based on the number of processing instances you execute on the cluster... but on the self-hosted mode, the pricing model should be customized."
"The evaluation of my customers on pricing is that it is reasonable."
