An orchestration tool to automate the end-to-end process with a need to improve its user experience
In BMC TrueSight Orchestration, login is just text-based, so it's really hard to find the problem. We cannot see the ongoing running jobs or interfere with them on an interface. So it's unavailable. There are some restrictions about the permissions, especially the level of the permissions, even though there is not very much there. It's a little bit hard to use clients' development tools, so the user experience may be improved. There is room for improvement for the local team.

Automation platforms streamline processes and offer flexibility, but AI integration and version upgrades pose challenges
In the technology world, there is always room for improvement. Technologies evolve day by day, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence and generative AI models. Although IBM BPM is a substantial product, adopting and integrating new technologies quickly is not easy due to the migration and upgrade paths involved. Every time new versions are released, we face business and production challenges that make rapid adoption challenging. The main concern bothering me today regarding IBM BPM is the integration of AI components.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"BMC TrueSight Orchestration has made things much easier for them."
"The product has a very good triggering mechanism."
"We can implement compliance standards with the solution. You can also do patching so that the environment is compliant and secure from external threats and hacking. We can provision multiple systems with the help of predefined templates that the organization has forwarded us. The solution’s users can also integrate multiple products which can be either BMC or non-BMC. There are numerous possibilities that can be done with server automation"
"The automation helps in payment transactions through BHIM app. The BMC helps in smooth clearance of all payments without using MasterCard or Visa. The solution is ready to use, and there is no need for customization or resources. We can complete integration over cloud and on-premise, and even using mainframes. The automation are secure through BMC TrueSight Orchestration."
"We particularly like the integration functionality of this solution. This product is open API, which means that it can be integrated with any solution from any other brand."
"This solution is scalable."
"The initial setup is easy. The deployment was done in an hour."
"The best thing about TrueSight is the user interface, which is intuitive and easy to use. It supports accessibility and exporting, so we can output to the format we require. We can use TrueSight to integrate nearly any other product. I can't think of another product that can match this functionality. We also have Microsoft Orchestrator, but it can't match BMC TrueSight Orchestration."
"I liked its robustness the most; it was a very robust platform in my experience, and it seemed like a very stable and powerful tool for handling lots of concurrent users and hammering at the system."
"This product was able to decrease the amount of relations between distributed systems and isolate systems, letting them retrieve and send information having only access to ESB."
"The system integration layer is valuable because this enables an organization to create a single point where all the key organizational master data is held in different IT applications across different functions, that can be accessed and updated."
"The initial setup is straightforward and easy. I would give it a nine out of ten."
"We will be hitting over a million transactions a day by the end of the year, so it is pretty successful."
"IBM BPM is easy when it comes to creating processes; it has an elaborated way to explore the IBM BPM processes and anyone can easily learn how to use IBM BPM within a period of a month or two."
"We have used a lot of out-of-the-box reporting on the process performance metrics. We have been able to make suggested changes to staff for this role or streamlining by eliminate some activities where people were not requiring a lot of work in the first place."
"Its dashboard is easy to use and very good. It allows us to customize."

Cons

"BMC TrueSight Orchestration is difficult to understand. It's not very user-friendly."
"The architecture of this solution needs improvement, it is very complicated."
"BMC TrueSight Orchestration could improve by providing some visibility on how the workflows are progressing."
"It would be helpful if TrueSight could log errors in a better format. I would also like to see more connector support. Let's say I have a third-party vendor that I need to integrate with Ansible. It would be helpful if BMC announced a specific connector for that. I've encountered situations where I need to work with scripts or find another way to integrate a particular product with TrueSight Orchestration. BMC already supports many products. For example, we have a connector for Ansible, but I think it needs to be improved some."
"The solution should move to the cloud. Every application from the BMC is on the container and moving to the cloud. There is also a number of limitations for the smart reporting feature of the TrueSight server which is not working in sync. We did not get any satisfactory reply from BMC on that note. We are not able to do the real-time sync between HSA and non-HSA service reporting tools and the actual application tools."
"The solution is not user-friendly."
"At present this solution is only available to be hosted on-premises, which can cause network issues when integration with cloud-based software is attempted."
"BMC TrueSight Orchestration is difficult to understand. It's not very user-friendly."
"We care about technology and support because support is very important and a BPM is not easy to implement."
"User Interface components could be further refined to enhance and extend customizations dictated by end clients."
"We have been experiencing bad performance and instability."
"There is a lot of room for improvement of the dashboards."
"The initial setup process is complex for basic users."
"The tool's workflow function is very strong."
"The coaches and the user interface are the areas that can be improved a lot. It is good in terms of data processing, but the UI, scripting, and coaches are not very user-friendly and developer-friendly."
"It should have a more powerful and faster form builder, also the license is complex using PVUs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing is available in different ways and depends on data being consumed by users and nodes being operated."
"There is a huge cost saving with BMC TrueSight compared to other solutions."
"Regarding pricing, it comes with the package when you buy the server automation. But it's made depending on some agreements for companies, of which I don't know the clause."
"Licensing is per lot, or per agent — one agent is one license."
"The solution might be expensive, but I can't give you a precise number. In the market here, I've seen two main products for BPM: IBM BPM and Camunda. Camunda is very popular and open-source, so there's no direct comparison."
"It's expensive. All software is always extremely high. The manufacturing cost that we have compared to the selling cost, it's not like you're building a house or building a car. But putting that aside, considering that it's expensive, it's a lot of money. If you compare it with some of the other alternatives in the market, it's a similar price. For instance, if you compare it with Pegasystems, it's a similar price."
"Due to its extensive features and capabilities, the product pricing is more aligned with medium—to large enterprises."
"It is pricey."
"I already compared some solutions related to business process management, and I saw that the cost of IBM BPM is more expensive compared with that of Camunda, for example."
"The price is good but could be a little lower."
"Our customers do see ROI. They'll identify some particularly painful or uncoordinated processes to start with, then build out from there, picking off low hanging fruit."
"Price wise, IBM BPM is cheaper than other similar solutions and has excellent pricing."
