"Helix Innovation Studio is a very good feature. It allows us to develop our own enterprise applications and make them available for the customers.""It is a stable solution.""Intelligent solution with a proactive monitoring feature and consolidated dashboard that's stable and easy to scale.""I like everything about this tool. I recommend this solution to anyone looking for a standalone solution with high availability meaning that can be used depending on the customers requirements.""The most valuable features are the rich reports, high performance, and the look and feel of the WebEx webpage are very good.""I like the event management part.""The most valuable feature of BMC TrueSight Operations Management is the dashboard presentation server.""The most valuable features of BMC TrueSight Operations Management are the blackouts and event management."

"The log aggregation is great.""It allows us to digest the information, the data, the different data streams, so we can make decisions based upon information that we receive, and it is pretty robust.""Its compatibility with other SIEMS is very useful.""The most valuable feature of Splunk is the management and built-in workflows.""The scalability of the solution is amazing because it can collect a lot of data and you can have your own structure to monitor this data.""The solution has plenty of features that are good.""It has quite extensive support in terms of integration. If you want to do anything, there are tools for that.""Its dashboard is valuable. If you have a good knowledge of how to create a dashboard, you can create any dashboard related to cybersecurity. Cons
"I would like them to improve the deep-dive details, tracing, and data agents in this product. We have EUEM, an end-user experience monitoring appliance. This one's quicker than the current one, and reporting side and filtration side are very bad. There are many details we look at and explain what we receive information in the current one, but we cannot have historical data like we do with EUEM. We cannot have a powerful point to look for specific traffic from a specific application and a specific browser. We don't have it in the new one. The current BMC also needs to add the thing that control versions.""The graphs are extremely limited. We don't have a lot of dashboard options. To make reports and dashboards more useful, we usually need to integrate some dashboard solutions.""There are some small limitations with this tool in terms of reporting dashboards that fit all of the requirements of the individual customer.""It would be better if the initial setup and deployment were more straightforward.""BMC TrueSight Operations Management could use some enhancements in the application visibility tools.""The UI for the end users could be improved and more flexible than it is now.""The pricing could be better.""BMC TrueSight Operations Management could improve the reporting."

More BMC TrueSight Operations Management Cons →

"The UI can be improved. Dashboards and reports can be better in terms of graphics.""The cluster environment should be improved. We have a cluster. In the Splunk cluster environment, in the case of heavy searches and heavy load, the Splunk cluster goes down, and we have to put it in the maintenance mode to get it back. We are not able to find the actual culprit for this issue. I know that cluster has RF and SF, but it has been down so many times. There should be something in Splunk to help users to find the reason and the solution for such issues.""From the commercial point of view, they have to bring down their costs.""Could be more user friendly.""The implementation and the scanning of the logs can be difficult.""The price of the solution could be cheaper.""I haven't found a way for me to create my own plugins and integrate them into Splunk, but this isn't necessarily a limitation; it could simply be a lack of knowledge on my part.""The product is relatively expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The price of BMC TrueSight Operations Management is very high. If there was more flexibility with the sizing of the licensing it would be helpful, especially during the pandemic. We have wanted to expend but the licensing cost is too high."
  • "BMC TrueSight Operations Management is not on the cheaper side, but its pricing is on a case by case basis. Its licensing model is simple and based on the number of devices."
  • "Annual licensing amount depends on the customers requirements. Support is an additional fee and there are options for three and five year support."
  • "They have changed the licensing fees."
  • "The solution is based on endpoints and knowledge models which can be costly."

  • "The price is comparable."
  • "The pricing model is expensive and a nightmare based on the amount of data."
  • "The solution is a little expensive."
  • "It is economical than other solutions."
  • "Price-wise, if you compare QRadar to Splunk for SIEM functionality then they are in the same range but when you integrate SOAR with these solutions, Splunk takes the lead and is more competitive."
  • "Its pricing model can be improved."
  • "The pricing model is based on the number of gigabytes that you ingest into the Splunk system. So it can be an expensive solution."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by BMC TrueSight Operations Management users.

Mudassir A., Sr. Technical Consultant at a tech services company, says, "The event management part of TrueSight Operations Management, in my experience, is probably the best in the market. You have endless flexibility. You can build your own rules, you have the MRL language, and you can implement any kind of logic on the alerts. It may be correlation, abstraction, or executing something as a result of the alerts. You have almost the whole range of options available for event management using the available customization."

A General Manager - Sales at a tech services company explains, “There are many features that are most valuable in BMC TrueSight Operations Management. First, its proactive monitoring feature is highly developed. BMC TrueSight Operations Management is an intelligent tool that's able to understand day-to-day operations and consistently gives alerts. The alerts are not automatic for some activities, e.g. some alerts are given monthly, while some are given more frequently. The consolidated dashboard where you can enjoy a single pane of glass to look at the full infrastructure from the servers to the VMs, to the clouds, to the application, to the database, to the network devices, including having a topology, and having a tendency map of the topology of key offerings, is also a valuable feature of this solution.”

An Information Systems Computer System Controller at an insurance company states, “The business event manager tool that consolidates detailed information from a single instance of equipment is the most valuable thing for me. It provides support for the business tools and the IT services which come from several systems.”

    Reviews from Real Users

Splunk stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its flexible search query tools and its strong AI capabilities.

A Solutions Consultant at a tech services company notes, “It provides a lot of analytics with the underlying AI engine, and it is a lot easier than other solutions. There are some products that do automated AI-based detection and drawing up charts, but for network monitoring and all of the monitoring aspects, it is quite a nice tool. It is very convenient for business users because they get more or less a lot of data readily available. If you're familiar with the Splunk query language, you can pretty much do whatever you want.”
