Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"In our organization, we use Bitwarden for managing product credentials. Bitwarden's collection feature enables us to securely create and store credentials, and we can easily provide team members with access to the relevant collections.""The product has a very friendly community.""Its integration capabilities and versatility, like the ability to securely save passwords and other critical information, make it incredibly useful.""I've found something else that is extremely valuable. Bitwarden refers to it as "emergency access". It's essentially a digital legacy where you can assign approved users who can request access. If you don't decline within a certain timeframe, they can access it in case you're incapacitated or deceased. When I last checked, only a few services offered this feature. Bitwarden had the simplest and best implementation.""It is open source and the premium package is reasonable.""Having all the passwords in one place is helpful."

More Bitwarden Pros →

"The surveillance is most valuable.""Its most valuable feature is its main purpose - the password changing and the Heartbeat so the user has access to only their SVN and does not have access to any other. Thycotic's access privileged management tool allows you to grant access to users for a specific period of time and with specific attributes and privileges.""Delinea's network integration is the most useful. For example, I use a Check Point firewall connect to SmartConsole, so I need to do a lot of configuration in Delinea Secret Server. Native integration with Check Point is valuable. You can also go download whatever API you need from the cloud, whether you're using Check Point, Palo Alto, etc. Enriched discovery is another good feature. If you are dealing with several kinds of systems, you can see which system requires privileged access to my network.""I have found the password management and the secret management features to be the most valuable. Our customers find its ease of integration and the use of power shells really attractive.""One of the features I find most valuable is workflow, which allows you to configure the solution to have multiple approvals.""Support is helpful.""I like that it's user-friendly.""It works for us."

Cons
"It would be ideal if the application could be seamlessly integrated into our open-source software, especially for the purpose of enabling straightforward logging.""I often use another password manager as well to keep my passwords separate, ensuring redundancy. But one simple thing Bitwarden could improve is providing an option to duplicate credentials. Often, you're creating many sets of credentials for the same thing. If they all have the same information, notes, login, collection, and naming - all you're changing is the password. The ability to duplicate credential records quickly would be a big win. It doesn't do that right now.""The solution should be made more secure as it has the banking sector and assets saved.""The product must be a bit more unified and refined.""Enhancing the tool by including additional security variables would be a valuable improvement.""The product could be cheaper."

More Bitwarden Cons →

"Delinea Secret Server can improve by extending the monitoring policies and making the performance better.""It is expensive compared to other solutions in this category and for what it does.""As I am partial to CyberArk, I rate Thycotic Password Reset Server as a nine out of ten, owing to the minor glitches I mentioned.""The technical support needs improvement. For example, if you have any problems on the server configuring the IIS, they would provide you very limited details and they would tell you the problem is on your end.""The initial setup and deployment can be cumbersome. It's not an easy process.""It would be better if they had a Linux version of the secret server.""The UI needs improvement because the interface is a little clumsy.""We find the documentation hard to understand."

  • "It isn't terribly expensive."
  • "The price of this solution is good."
  • "The pricing is standard in this business and we have no complaints about it."
  • "Its price is okay. We don't compete on pricing. We seldom use price to win over our competitors. We prefer it this way because if we can sustain the price, we make more margin as well. We don't want the price to go down to the bottom where despite the win, there's no margin at all."
  • "Secret Server is expensive when compared to the cost to some alternatives."
  • "There are different plans and additional licensing costs that can be instituted for add-ons."
  • "There is an annual license fee per user and the price is fair."
  • "They are priced quite well."
