Robust credential management has improved security and simplifies privileged access control
I would characterize common frustrations related to Delinea Secret Server rather than using the term dislike. One area is the complexity for the administrative part. While it is straightforward in core values, configuring advanced policies, custom templates, and other areas including discovery scans and detailed reporting have a steep learning curve and may require extra training. The user interface and terminology present another challenge. Some users feel that the user interface can feel dated or overly complex, with terminology around secrets and folder structures taking time to master. Pricing perception is another point where some costs are mixed, while many others find Delinea Secret Server more affordable and flexible than tier one competitors. However, smaller teams still view enterprise licensing as a significant investment. I have observed poor technical support, particularly in multiple reviews. The support can be slow, limited, and sometimes unhelpful when troubleshooting complex configurations or stability issues. Aggressive or untransparent sales practices also present a concern. Some customers on G2 have cited frustrations with hidden costs, such as unexpected EC2 instance fees and core features being unbundled or oversold during contract negotiation. Complex implementation and setup is another significant challenge. The initial configuration, deployment, and managing advanced policies or connectors requires specialized expertise that most organizations do not have, and the steep learning curve compounds this issue. Users transitioning to the cloud-hosted version frequently complain that the updated interface and permissions structure feel slow and problematic compared to the legacy on-premise setup. Integration and API challenges represent the final area of concern. The platform points out challenges with API tokenization and external system integration, and the lack of documentation is one of the key points I would highlight. This limitation affects the ability to integrate with external systems effectively.

Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

For a banking or financial services use case you should check out SplitSecure. Very easy to deploy and use and splits secrets across devices rather than on cloud servers so you get full cryptographic sovereignty and compliance with MiCA, DASCP C10/C27 and DORA by default.

Hello Avinash, it all depends on the timeline and urgency of the project. If you need to deploy a PAM tool that focuses on standing privileges, stopping lateral movement, and incorporating Zero Standing Privileges as part of Zero Trust, then please consider looking at Remediant. I've worked for BeyondTrust and have gone up against the other big players such as Delinea, Centrify, CyberArk, and HashiCorp. They more or less all offer similar solutions, but looking at your current requirements, Remediant really excels in delivering a simple, yet very effective tool in a matter of days and weeks, not months and years.

Based on your extensive list of requirements, CyberArk Privileged Access Manager appears to align well with your needs due to its comprehensive feature set, strong security controls, integration capabilities, and advanced analytics for privileged access. However, it's important to conduct in-depth evaluations, demos, and discussions with each vendor to ensure that the chosen tool meets all your specific needs and integrates seamlessly into your existing infrastructure. However, I recommend visiting the official website of Broadcom (the company that acquired Symantec's enterprise security business) or contacting their sales representatives to get the most up-to-date information about their PAM solutions, including any rebranding or changes that may have occurred. When evaluating any PAM solution, it's essential to consider factors such as security, integration capabilities, ease of use, vendor support, scalability, and alignment with your organization's specific needs and compliance requirements. It's also a good practice to request demonstrations, proofs of concept, and references from vendors to ensure that the solution meets your expectations. Remember to involve key stakeholders, such as IT, security, compliance, and management teams, in the decision-making process to ensure alignment with organizational goals and requirements.
