Has improved security and enabled remote work flexibility across teams
The best features Check Point Remote Access VPN offers are its security features, which stand out to me. Whenever we are giving the remote access VPN to any employees or vendors, we can specify and control particular access. If we want to give access to a particular IP only, we can achieve that via this feature, and we also apply security features such as antivirus and anti-spyware while giving access to any employees or partners. The ability to control and specify access with Check Point Remote Access VPN, such as limiting to particular IPs or applying antivirus and anti-spyware, makes our environment safe from cyber threats and any types of malicious activities or accessing our private data. We control this through the feature by applying security policies that allow particular users. After deploying Check Point Remote Access VPN solution, I can say that our productivity has maximized. Users are working from home and even working 24/7. If they want, they can access our resources at any time, providing flexibility to work from anywhere. Employees say that sometimes they are not available during the working hour, but they can work from home at their flexible timing, needing access to our private network resources. They sit at home or any remote site and connect to our network to work, which is very good.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product is easy to connect."
"The most valuable feature would be that you can actually narrow down your session to one application on one server, which is really nice."
"What I find most valuable is the total cost of ownership."
"The setup is straightforward and hassle-free."
"This solution is valuable because it's a stand alone system and doesn't disconnect, it functions well, it's a good software and good system, and I believe it's a better product than Cisco."
"It's a stand alone system that functions well."
"The initial setup is not complex, and with the Kryon system it makes it easier for the user because we have known this product for a while, so it's not a problem to configure the system."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN has positively impacted my organization by greatly increasing productivity because users are now working from anywhere, and even during leave, they can easily work at any time."
"The differentiator for this solution is the management interface that we find very good and provides a single view for all endpoints."
"To maintain the authorization of the connected user, Check Point provides multi-factor authentication for an RA VPN client to make sure legitimate users have access to resources."
"Check Point Endpoint Remote Access VPN is without a doubt, really fantastic software."
"The most important feature of Check Point Remote Access VPN is the multiple factor authentication."
"After deploying Check Point Remote Access VPN, productivity has really improved because previously some users were unable to come to the office and were sitting idly at home without access to any resources in our private network."
"The best feature of Check Point Remote Access VPN is the control during the connectivity—whenever I connect to my organization's network, my PC is always connected to the private network, even whenever I connect to the internet."

Cons

"Barracuda should find other ways to stir up interest about this product."
"There could be more security features included in the product."
"Since it's not going to be getting any more software updates as per the end of this year, we have to move off to a different product.."
"They are good, but sometimes it can take weeks to solve an issue."
"Reporting could be improved."
"Generally, the license is included with the Check Point gateway licensing, however, in terms of the number of users that can be activated for use, it is generally five users."
"We'd like to integrate Check Point into the Remote Access VPN solution and have the ability to integrate multiple devices as access points through the solution."
"In the case of URL translation of the VPN Web portal, the requests made from the front end to the back end weren't valid (due to the use of dynamic subdomains). In the case of host translations, the request was made to the same host, however, we cannot specify the ports, which, in our case, are used to redirect to different servers."
"Sometimes it causes the consumption of machine resources, and also improves the scanning since they consume many resources in the clients' machines."
"The Linux version may have an app (similar to Windows) instead of a shell script."
"They need to increase their timeout. Right now, it will fail after ten seconds, however, it shouldn't fail until after 20. If you don't get on your phone right away and check on your authentications, it will kick you out."
"Knowledge base documentation can be upgraded."
"My overall experience with customer support is not great; our typical first level of support that we receive is lackluster, usually involving someone that doesn't really understand our issue, and it takes multiple days to get the issue escalated to someone that can actually help."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is affordable and reasonably priced so it would make a lot of sense for people to use it long-term."
"Barracuda SSL VPN is inexpensive."
"My company makes yearly payments only towards the licensing costs attached to Check Point Remote Access VPN, as there are no extra costs attached to the product."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"Regarding pricing, as a global customer, we get a big discount. For us, it's a good return on investment. We need to pay for additional features we want to enable. It seems cheaper than other vendors, but I can't say what it would cost an average customer."
"I can say that the licensing costs are charged annually."
"The price of this product is good."
"The solution is pretty expensive. The rating is an eight."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is not expensive and the cost is annual."
"There is a license required for this solution."
