Has supported secure data storage with incremental backups and centralized monitoring
Azure Backup supports all the features that we need, so additional features are not an immediate need for me. The documentation for Azure Backup seems okay for me; it is good overall, but it should be more descriptive for each item. It should elaborate more on how backup and restore are fulfilled in different scenarios. One of the reviews indicates that Azure Backup needs improvements for specific backup options beyond just full VM snapshots. I believe it should be improved actually. Regarding specific backup options, I say there should be improvements compared to how they provided them in older days.

Speedy and easy setup but it needs to mature
One way this solution could be improved is if they could come up with better options to migrate. As for what could be included in the next release, we have shared a couple of points with them. First, the account should be more in balance and coordinated with us. They already communicated to our project management team that they are going to implement some of these features. I would definitely recommend this solution. But as time goes on and new features are getting added the product will be more comprehensive.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The fact that Azure Backup is integrated is one of its biggest advantages."
"It's easy to deploy."
"The most valuable feature of Azure Backup is the native backup capabilities."
"The deployment process is quite easy in Azure."
"The compression features save us money and speed up the backup and restore process."
"Azure Backup is very simple to use and user-friendly."
"We are happy with this product and have not found any issues while using it."
"The solution helped us use R2 RBO to back up frequently."
"One of the features I find most valuable, is the good technical support."
"The speed and the ease of the initial setup are both good. It is not complex."

Cons

"On-prem can be complex to set up but the cloud is simple."
"Azure Backup must include features similar to enterprise solutions."
"I would like to see more automation, integration, and security. The price could be better."
"The compression ratio of the backup data should be improved."
"Microsoft's technical support for Azure products could be improved."
"The solution is still in its infancy; it's not a mature product yet."
"I believe more options could be available to understand better what's happening in the system. Additionally, automating the client updates and connector updates would be beneficial. Updating the connector from time to time can be challenging, and it could be made more transparent and straightforward for users. Moreover, another drawback lies in the time it takes to test full data backup recovery. Deploying a full recovery takes longer. We need to allocate a longer period for complete data recovery to establish the environment again."
"Azure Backup needs improvements in allowing more specific backup options rather than just full VM snapshots."
"The interface and documentation need to improve."
"The product has to be more mature, like to be another six to eight months on the market. A lot of maturity needs to be incorporated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Azure Backup can be expensive if you are not vigilant about your storage steering."
"This is an expensive solution in the Bangladesh marketplace."
"Overall, its cost is better because the VMs are already there, and whatever you back up, there is only the additional cost of that storage, whereas if I have to use Avamar in Azure, a separate cost is there for the Avamar server, and in addition, whatever I take as a backup, there is a separate license with Avamar for that. So, there is a double cost if we have to use Avamar in the cloud."
"Price-wise, it's similar to AWS."
"The price is somewhat high and could be lower."
"There is a cost per terabyte for using this solution."
"The price is pretty good, maybe $30 for a machine, I can't complain."
"We are paying about $100,000 USD per year, just for a couple of servers."
