Centralized monitoring has improved secure file transfers and supports proactive operations
Centralized monitoring and alerting make it easier and quicker to identify failed or delayed transfers. Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer has secure protocol support like SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS, which allow safe data exchange with different partners. These features have positively impacted the organization by improving transfer reliability, strengthening security and compliance, reducing manual effort, and enabling faster issue resolutions. This helps ensure consistent delivery and better partner satisfaction. The automation and scheduling capability is especially valuable as it allows us to standardize recurring transfers, reduce manual interventions, and minimize errors. I also appreciate the retry and recovery mechanism, which helps ensure files are delivered when there are temporary network or partner-side issues. Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer's scalability and centralized management allow us to manage multiple partners and high volume from a single platform while maintaining strong security and visibility. Overall, the feature set helps us keep transfers reliable, secure, and easy to support in a production environment.

We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.
Two main issues. 1) It can be a bandwidth resource hog over a small WAN link. We would routinely saturate a 3Mbps link with WAFS. This can be mitigated with tuning what gets replicated. 2) In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls. In our replication case, we had more than 10,000 files get corrupted this way (out of 1.2 million). GlobalScape support basically said that there were issues with W2K8 R2 but the problem actually dated back to 2008 on a W2K3 server. We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer positively impacts my organization because we pride ourselves on security, and using it helps convey that to our employees and clients, which speaks volumes."
"AMPLIFY has all the essential features for managing file transfer."
"It is an easy-to-use and stable product."
"In the past, we needed multiple IT personnel to set up the file transfers, but now we have a three-person team handling all file transfer requests for the entire organization, which is a massive return on investment."
"Product integration with legacy systems is very good; what we have worked on is very easy to use."
"It is a good product, stable, and you can use it on different levels, and on platforms."
"The capability to write for my specific needs, meaning the possibility of easily extending the product features to get what I need, is a very important feature for managing transfers with different environments and is very helpful for troubleshooting."
"I think Axway AMPLIFY API Management is the best option on the market at the moment in the enterprise space."
"When it works, WAFS is a good way to keep data synchronized between multiple servers in multiple locations."

Cons

"During huge file transfers, sometimes the system becomes very slow when the load increases, especially when integrating with Flow Manager, causing flow deployment to slow down."
"Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer could be improved as it is not particularly user-friendly; a better user interface for easy navigation and usability is needed, as it takes time to get familiar with if starting from scratch."
"Axway is stable up to a certain point, but when the number of file transfers multiplies, the application sometimes crashes."
"Sometimes, the application's embedded databases couldn't perform well for a higher volume of data."
"Improvement in Data Encoding would be very appreciated (I'm thinking of ASCII-EBCDIC, ASCII-ASCII, etc.)."
"We only hope that they continue to keep updating the solution and improving the offering. They could always do more updates and releases."
"The areas in need of improvement are the monitoring and the cut-off management, when needed. Today you have at least two solutions: Buy the other Axway suite, Sentinel, or integrate it into your monitoring system."
"It is complicated to manage multi-operations, particularly in handling file name changes within file transcripts."
"In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The platform's price aligns with the market."
"AMPLIFY's license is a one-time investment."
"Pricing and licensing is related to the protocols you choose to support."
"It is quite expensive, and because of that, we get good service from them in return for the price paid."
