We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.
Two main issues. 1) It can be a bandwidth resource hog over a small WAN link. We would routinely saturate a 3Mbps link with WAFS. This can be mitigated with tuning what gets replicated. 2) In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls. In our replication case, we had more than 10,000 files get corrupted this way (out of 1.2 million). GlobalScape support basically said that there were issues with W2K8 R2 but the problem actually dated back to 2008 on a W2K3 server. We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.

Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources
The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure. First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%. It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it works, WAFS is a good way to keep data synchronized between multiple servers in multiple locations."
"The standout feature of GoAnywhere MFT is the centralized dashboard for monitoring all file transfers, which saves time and gives me a sense of reliability."
"GoAnywhere MFT has saved us approximately 30% of the time in securely connecting with third parties, as it previously took about 50 minutes to transfer files manually, but now it takes about 35 minutes."
"When I compare GoAnywhere MFT with those other products, I would say that GoAnywhere MFT is a very simple and very reliable product for my customers who are already using it."
"GoAnywhere MFT is a great file-specific, file transfer-specific, and encryption-specific solution."
"Because every new development request requires a certain amount of effort, new development in GoAnywhere is really fast thanks to the template workflow and being able to call another workflow."
"The whole application of GoAnywhere MFT is excellent. The user interface is intuitive. The flexibility for creating projects for managed file transfer is quite robust. I"
"The automation is the best part of GoAnywhere MFT, because once the workflows are set up, the transfer runs consistently and without any manual effort."
"GoAnywhere MFT provides the best encryption mode in sharing files, which stands out for me compared to other solutions I have seen."

Cons

"In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls."
"Improvement in support or product relies on being ingenious, supportive, and listening to its customer base."
"I am unable to accomplish this with the predefined functions provided by GoAnywhere MFT, which is why I use shell scripting."
"The technical support has room for improvement."
"I believe that GoAnywhere MFT can be improved because the initial setup is somewhat challenging for a new user, so they need to make the initial feature easier for everyone, whether new or experienced users."
"There is a function referred to as write CSV, to write a general text file. In this scenario of creating a simple text file, I ran into a situation where, if the product saw a quote or a double-quote in the data, it started wrapping all the text fields in double-quotes."
"GoAnywhere's interface could be a little more intuitive."
"When a monitor invokes a project to accomplish something, that gets logged as a job. I've had a little difficulty figuring out where to look to see the monitor's activities itself, to see if the monitor is having a problem. For instance, if an account on a secure FTP server has expired, the monitor that uses that account doesn't announce to us that it's having a problem. I want to work with them on this to get it fixed."
"Sometimes we use GoFast in GoAnywhere MFT because there are many failures or server issues."
