The interface is easy to use and gives you a solid overview
The cloud-based deployment was straightforward, but the on-prem deployment was in a highly complex ecosystem. Omada has matured since then. I wouldn't say that it isn't straightforward, but it depends on the customer. A standard deployment is relatively easy, but it can be more painful if you need a lot of customization. We deployed the cloud solution in around four months, nearly meeting the 12-week benchmark. The on-prem deployment took three years. It was a highly complex ecosystem that was dependent on other systems. Depending on the size of your environment, you need a product owner and some specialists for maintenance. My last customer was a university with a complex environment. They had around 12 people involved in maintenance at that organization. Typically, it's between 2-5 people.

Manages access permissions effectively with role-based control and MFA
One of the most valuable features is the ability to create IAM users and add them to specific user groups to manage access permissions at a group level. It also provides MFA, which adds an additional layer of security. The solution supports role-based access control, allowing specific roles to be attached to AWS services like EC2, enabling automatic access to resources such as S3 buckets.

An excellent application with a strong use case
It is very intuitive and has improved significantly over the last seven years. Its deployment is very enterprise-focused, and I hope it will eventually become cloud-based for easier connection through AWS or similar services. Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best feature in Omada Identity is that it enables us to implement standardized employee life cycle processes so that we don't have to create them ourselves. We can then use the standard workflows. The breadth and scope of the solution’s IGA features also fulfill our requirements."
"The most valuable feature is the automatic provisioning and reconciliation of things like the Active Directory groups and memberships."
"Surveying is a valuable feature because it allows us to import data and see who has access to what data, for example."
"It has a lot of out-of-the-box features. It is flexible, and there are a lot of possibilities to configure and extend it. It is user-friendly. It has an interface that is end-user or business-user friendly."
"The most valuable aspects of Omada Identity for me are the automation capabilities."
"It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable."
"The benefits of Omada Identity include a holistic way of viewing access, the ability to give people access, and automation."
"As an administrator, we benefit from a lot of functionality that is available out of the box, but it is also configurable to meet our specific needs."
"AWS Identity and Access Management has an intuitive user interface that is simple to use."
"I rate AWS Identity and Access Management ten out of ten."
"The most beneficial aspect of AWS Identity and Access Management is the ability to manage security."
"AWS Identity and Access Management allows for creating, modifying, and deleting users or integrating with directories."
"It also provides MFA, which adds an additional layer of security."
"From my experience, AWS Identity and Access Management is a strong solution."
"AWS Identity and Access Management has an intuitive user interface that is simple to use."

Cons

"The UI design needs improvement. One or two years ago, Omada changed its user interface to simplify, but the simplification has not really kicked in."
"Omada's reporting functionality is limited and could benefit from greater customization."
"We are still on Omada on-prem, but I understand that when Omada is in the cloud, you cannot send an attachment via email. We have some emails with attachments for new employees because we have to explain to them how to register and do their multi-factor authentication. All that information is in the attachment. People have to do that before they are in our system. We cannot give them a link to our Intranet and SharePoint because they do not yet have access. They have to register before that, so I need to send the attachments, but this functionality is not there in the cloud."
"The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it."
"One thing that we are not so happy about is the user interface. It is a bit dated. I know that they are working on that, but the user interface is quite dated. Currently, it is a little bit difficult to customize the user interface to the need of the business, which is a little bit disappointing. It needs it to be a little bit easier to operate, and it should have a better user interface."
"The security permission inside Omada needs improvement. It's tricky to set up."
"In our organization, all the data is event-driven, which means that if an attribute is changed in the source system, it can be updated within a few seconds in all end-user systems. There is room for improvement in Omada regarding that. Omada is still batch-based for some processes, so sometimes it can take an hour or even four hours before the execution is run and the update is sent."
"There is room for improvement in Omada's integration capabilities, particularly in streamlining complex integrations and enhancing programming logic for better rule management."
"The accessibility and inclusion of more AI features would greatly enhance the program."
"I would like to see scalability improvements in AWS Identity and Access Management, such as better integration with existing systems and applications."
"AWS Identity and Access Management has an intuitive user interface that is simple to use."
"Currently, AWS Identity and Access Management needs improvement in the prevention of unauthorized access to sensitive data and models."
"Currently, the IAM solution does not allow one user to create multiple access and secret keys, which can be distributed in a diverse manner. This feature would be beneficial."
"The documentation and policies could be more straightforward."

"I would like to see scalability improvements in AWS Identity and Access Management, such as better integration with existing systems and applications."
"I would like to see EmpowerID move to the cloud to facilitate easier deployment and connectivity through AWS or similar services."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Omada is too expensive. We are in the automotive industry. The pricing might be high because most of the other customers are in the insurance or banking sectors, but it's steep for an auto supply company."
"The pricing for Omada Identity is fair."
"Omada Identity is competitively priced and delivers good value for our money."
"It is fairly priced for an on-premise environment, but for the cloud environment, I am not that happy with the pricing."
"While Omada Identity carries a premium price tag, it proves to be cost-effective."
"It is not cheap. It is expensive, but compared to what we did almost three years ago, it is value for money. It is worth it."
"There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
"The pricing is okay."
