Flexibility in workload accommodation and supportive user experience drive efficiency
Currently, I think that the program is great the way it is, and maybe we use less than 50% of the current features of the platform. For example, we have been evaluating Dask with Python to work with distributed processing, and I don't know if AWS Fargate could be used to build Dask clusters, which would be great because there are many people on our team working with Python workloads. Having something that can manage distributed processing using Dask in a containerized deployment could be valuable. For a company that does not require complexity or managing Kubernetes clusters, AWS Fargate is a great way to go with the use of containers in a simple way, providing the power of containers and scalability without the complexity of going into Kubernetes.

Heroku is deployed on the cloud. We can deploy our private and public projects over at Heroku. Most of the time, when we are starting any new project from scratch, we have to implement our MVP for that project or the core idea. We are unsure how our traffic flow will go or the actual production environment requirements. We don't want to spend the most on the server sites, so then we can use it with our go-to plan for Heroku, and all the resources are available in the basic plan with the minimum expenses. So, it helps us to deploy and make our features available online at the minimum cost. Once we know our needs, we can add the professional add-ons and shift it to another platform. Heroku supports any resource listed in the marketplace. We just have to deploy our AI solutions, and Heroku can also support AI projects. I would recommend the solution to other users. I advise users not to purchase extra add-ons but to make scalable resources so that they can use all the resources efficiently. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of AWS Fargate is its ease of use."
"AWS Fargate is an Amazon-managed service for Kubernetes that provides a nice out-of-the-box pre-packaged solution for deploying, with good integration with EKS and container registry, making it an easy way to use the AWS Kubernetes service."
"AWS Fargate automatically scales to meet demand, making it ideal for applications with variable workloads."
"AWS Fargate is an easy-to-use tool to simplify setup. You only pay for the resources you use. If you need to quickly create, delete, or scale applications without managing resources like EC2 instances, Fargate is the best service to use."
"If you create your deployment with a good set of rules for how to scale in, you can just set it and forget it."
"Fargate's integration with other AWS services is really good."
"The most valuable feature is the complete independence of doing administrative courses for your deployment."
"What I find best about AWS Fargate is that compared to deploying containers on EC2, where we need to check everything manually such as uptime, error logs, and other issues, AWS Fargate manages all these aspects automatically."
"Valuable for us was the fast deployment. This means the time to market is improved without pain for developers."
"The product is stable."
"Thanks to Heroku, we don't need to do as much direct management in AWS."
"My advice for anybody who is considering Heroku is that it's really simple to use, it's stable, and it is very powerful for continuous deployment."
"I have been a great fan of Heroku as it simplified my work for many years."
"I like the tool's scalability, CLI, and dashboards."
"We, as a startup, can use Heroku and the plenty of possible configurations to scale from the very beginning to a medium-sized company."
"We use Heroku to run generic data. We also use it for our customer development environment. It helps us to build and test websites."

Cons

"AWS Fargate could improve the privileged mode containers. We had some problems and they were not able to run."
"I heard from my team that it's not easy to predict the cost. That is the only issue we have with AWS Fargate, but I think that's acceptable. AWS Fargate isn't user-friendly. Anything related to Software as a Service or microservice architecture is not easy to implement. You're required to have DevOps from your side to implement the solution. AWS Fargate is just a temporary solution for us. When we grow to a certain level, we may use AKS for better control."
"There are features that could be added or enhanced."
"Challenges include higher costs for smaller clients, limited control over underlying infrastructure customization, and potential latencies during task startup."
"They need to improve some UI-based interaction."
"AWS Fargate could improve the privileged mode containers."
"AWS Fargate's security features weren't the most important criteria or value we got from AWS Fargate."
"The error handling aspect sometimes causes issues and can get stuck during deployment, making the process not very clean."
"Their support is good, but they can improve their response time."
"I think this solution would be improved if free demos were available indefinitely."
"I had an issue recently where my site was down intermittently for unknown reasons. I posted a ticket and 5 days have gone by without any resolution."
"Heroku had an authentication problem a few months ago, but they solved it."
"They could flesh out some of their analytics a little more."
"Slow restart on servers"
"I improved the application performance by monitoring and adjusting the cleaner configuration to help set better lightweight limits on containers that run the app instances."
"But I recently got my account suspended because someone abused one of my apps."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the price of AWS Fargate a four out of five."
"We would advise that this solution has a slightly-higher price point than others on the market. There is a free plan available for start-ups, but the free and lower range licensing models do not provide the full functionality."
"I rate the tool's pricing a three out of ten."
"The tool is free."
"There is a standard fee for a processing unit, they call them "dynos," and then you pay for add-ons."
"The price of Heroku could be less expensive."
"Its price is very good."
