Sentiment score
4.5
N2W is renowned for its stability, consistently managing backups efficiently, ensuring reliability and minimal downtime in production environments.
It is very good and very reliable.
AWS is not difficult, but the cost associated with replicating data to another region can be significant.

Room For Improvement

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery needs automation, integration, cost optimization, user enhancements, and improved documentation for better efficiency and user-friendliness.
N2W requires UI upgrades, better deployment, third-party integration, detailed documentation, efficient backups, expanded tools, multicloud support, and stability.
This would detail user activity directly in the ACL console for easier debugging and auditing.
In AWS Disaster Recovery Service, these details are not available, making it difficult to check my replication status.
Adding an 'auto-delete after X days' option to manual backups, similar to scheduled policies, would be a fantastic addition for cost management and general housekeeping.
An automated account enrollment or bulk import feature integrated with AWS Organizations or Control Tower would save significant time and reduce administrative overhead.
Improved disaster recovery options and expanded multicloud support are two areas where N2WS has already made significant advancements in the latest version.

Setup Cost

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery is seen as fair value with cost-saving options, though cumulative and alternative costs should be evaluated.
N2W provides flexible, instance-based pricing on AWS Marketplace, allowing cost-effective management, with optimization needed for growing backup volumes.
Pricing can increase as backup volumes grow, so it is important to balance the level of protection with cost-optimization strategies such as tiering snapshots to S3 or Glacier.
While N2W is a paid product, the cost is easily justified by the significant reduction in engineering hours spent on managing and troubleshooting custom backup scripts.
I believe N2WS offers a highly competitive pricing model, delivering excellent value.

Valuable Features

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery provides cost-effective, scalable data protection and seamless integration, enhancing reliability, flexibility, and ease of deployment.
N2W provides efficient backup, recovery, and cost management with intuitive GUI, policy-based management, and cross-region resilience.
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Service is a native service, integration is seamless.
Lifecycle management and automated transitions to lower-cost storage tiers have been instrumental in optimizing costs while meeting compliance and retention requirements.
We had a ransomware event in 2023, and we were able to recover every machine with minimal effort.
The ability to define backup schedules, retention periods, and disaster recovery policies and have them apply automatically based on resource tags scales perfectly with our environment and enforces a consistent data protection strategy across the organization.

Managed services with seamless integration and good reliability
Since I have to view everything on the console, the previous application solutions like IBM and Sanavi showed the RPO and RTO status directly. In AWS Disaster Recovery Service, these details are not available, making it difficult to check my replication status. I have to calculate whether my data is replicated to the Adarabad region or not. These features, if available in AWS, would be beneficial.

Backup process and monitoring become simple and effective while seamless instance recovery and cost optimization ensure business continuity
Policy creation is straightforward, with automatic backups of new resources enabled through tagging. Instance recovery is seamless, whether within the same VPC or across different VPCs. File-level restores are intuitive and easy to manage, while full VPC backups provide critical protection and peace of mind in the event of a disaster. In addition, lifecycle management and automated transitions to lower-cost storage tiers have been instrumental in optimizing costs while meeting compliance and retention requirements. The ability to create immutable backups further strengthens our business continuity strategy by ensuring an additional layer of protection against accidental or malicious data loss.
