Rapid internal apps have transformed delivery time but now need richer UI control and workflow debugging
The best features AWS App Studio offers include a low-code UI builder, built-in workflow automations, native integration with AWS services, role-based access controls, and quick deployment without managing infrastructure. I find myself using the low-code UI builder the most among these features because sometimes I have to show a prototype to the customer, so I use it the most for that reason. I used workflow automation as well because it allows me to define business logic such as approvals, triggers, and updates without writing back-end code. That significantly reduces deployment efforts for internal tools. AWS App Studio has positively impacted my organization by helping me build internal tools much faster. What used to take two to three weeks can now be done in a few days. It also reduces the dependency on full-stack developers for simple apps, saving 60 to 70 percent of the development cost.

Seamless integration and application hosting enabled through versatile service
When using a Linux App Service or containerized App Services, the logging is not as good as when using the Windows version. The Linux App Service should be more user-friendly, focusing on logging, troubleshooting, and similar features. With Microsoft Azure App Service, it is more difficult with Linux or other container solutions because there are many options. When creating an App Service, you can create it as Linux or Windows. After that, you can choose some stack or use Docker to container. When using Linux with container, the logging functionality is not as robust.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"AWS App Studio has positively impacted my organization by helping me build internal tools much faster."
"We use Microsoft Azure App Services extensively, and it is easy to integrate with other services through simple drag and click functionality."
"The best feature is scalability, which allows you to target potential clients worldwide by connecting the application to a local server. This makes the application readily accessible, and the response time will be much better."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Azure App Service is customization. It provides the building block from its modularity. You can add what you need with the appropriate code."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the easy deployment, the scalability, and the Azure maintenance."
"Overall, I would rate Microsoft Azure App Service as nine out of ten."
"The cost or price of Azure is lower than that of the on-premises version, which is why we might want to implement our solutions in Azure."
"I'm a decision-maker, not a technician. From my perspective, the most significant advantage is that Azure is a one-stop shop. Everything we needed was included in the Microsoft Agreement. During COVID, it was the most convenient and most straightforward decision."
"Overall, all of the features are very good."

Cons

"AWS App Studio's scalability is good for internal apps but not intended for large-scale, customer-facing applications because sometimes it makes mistakes."
"The cost management of this solution could be better. We only receive estimations."
"Sometimes we face problems, but those are technical problems in Microsoft, bugs or something doesn't work as expected, but that's normal."
"App Service sometimes becomes very slow to respond, and it can be difficult to find the issue causing this."
"From an IoT use case perspective, we're all good, however, we should have additional plugins."
"When using a Linux App Service or containerized App Services, the logging is not as good as when using the Windows version."
"There is always room for improvement price-wise."
"The solution is somewhat expensive."
"Documentation is not well-organized, making it difficult to find current and relevant information."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The product's price is low, especially if we compare it with other tools or clouds, like Google Cloud or AWS Cloud."
"The pricing for Microsoft Azure App Service is per hour, and you're billed per hour, and it depends on the plan you're using. Each plan can host up to a minimum of four to eight applications at a time, so the pricing is quite okay with how I use Microsoft Azure App Service currently, but with the little testing I've done, I saw that some other regions tend to be costlier than others. If the same SLE is delivered for all services, there should be a way to make the prices parallel across regions. Having more transparent pricing for Microsoft Azure App Service would give customers more comfort."
"I would rate the product's pricing a five out of ten and is subscription based."
"Azure doesn't cost as much as other services."
"Microsoft Azure App Service is an expensive platform, but it depends on the data ingestion. There's a pay-as-you-go plan and a savings plan for compute, but total costs depend on data ingestion and disk space. For high performance, security, and isolation, Microsoft offers a disk space of 1 TB, with a pay-as-you-go price of $40 per hour, if I'm not mistaken."
"The pricing for this solution is set in tiers, with the overall cost depending on the features that are required. I would advise organizations to have a detailed look at the functions they need, to ensure that they are in the correct pricing tier."
"On a scale of one to five, with one being expensive and five being competitive, I would rate this solution as a four."
"I rate Microsoft Azure App Service a seven out of ten for pricing."
