Provide different types of challenges to secure way to communicate tokens and good for multi-platform or device-supported application
I would recommend to use it if someone is interested in using Arkose for the first time. You provide authentication when a user types their username and password on your website or mobile app. But, you also provide an extra layer of security with Arkose by using an extra token. We can use it on websites, at least. For mobile, people use authentication with Google or phone numbers. It's authenticated by OTP. Google and Apple already provide default sign-ins, so there's no need for Arkose on mobile unless you use custom email IDs and passwords without SSO. You can use it on websites to create custom fields for registration and login. The documentation is also good. Maybe there is room for improvement on the backend side. But for usability and implementation, it would be a ten. I didn't face any issues when I implemented it in our applications.

Application protection has improved and reporting and dashboards still need refinement
I believe Imperva Application Security Platform should have a more interactive wizard. While the dashboard is good, it could be more eye-catching. Based on my perspective, I recommend modifying the dashboards, especially the main dashboard where I can see the traffic hit count, alerts, and other latest information. In terms of reporting, I find it challenging to create reports; in my earlier days, it was difficult. Over time, I have learned how to create reports, but it should be easier to do so. I have used other tools such as firewalls or SolarWinds, where creating a report is straightforward and does not take much time, unlike in Imperva, where I have to add many elements. Modifications in the integration aspects would also be beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I also like that they challenge crawling in CAPTCHA for mobile. This is good compared to the traditional way."
"It is easy to use and has good security."
"There is no need to have an in-house WAF to manage and maintain; we are now able to bring a new website live within minutes, without false positive alerts, and it has improved user/customer experience and website performance."
"IncapRules is one of the most valuable features, as you can create your own security and access control rules on top of your security policy. Using IncapRules we were able to easily block Layer 7 DDoS attacks several times."
"It is an effective threat mitigation tool."
"Incapsula can help to hide the real origin and provide access control over different pages, and it can protect the website from being attacked."
"If you are using the appliance as opposed to the virtual deployment, it can stand as the network layer-two and provide real transparency."
"This product is a reliable defense from malicious attacks on a network environment."
"I was involved in the deployment and found that all the features in this product are fantastic, especially the correlated attack validation, threat radar (reputation, fraud), and virtual patching."

Cons

"Arkose need to provide something for testing."
"Technical support is probably the biggest drawback."
"Clients also often complain about the cost of the solution."
"The weakest point of Imperva is their first level of support, which should be improved. They should also improve the access and security logs viewing directly on the portal. I would like to see better access and security logs through the portal and not only through a SIM solution. Currently, if you want to explore your access and security logs from Imperva, you need a SIM tool or a SIM infrastructure on your side to do it. You can't do it manually or directly through the portal, which is a big problem for us. I had a call yesterday with Imperva for the roadmap, and I just told them this. They agreed that this is an improvement point from their side."
"The tool needs to improve CPU and storage memory."
"Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the technical staff of the solution to get back to our company with a resolution for our problems."
"Imperva Web Application Firewall could improve the console by making it easier to use."
"The tool's UI is complicated. It would be best to have a more accessible UI dashboard to make the job easier."
"The weakest point of Imperva is their first level of support, which should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Make sure you understand the way that Imperva charges. It's very affordable. However, I would like to see a package with the Virtual Patching included. You get to do patching separately."
"Imperva’s pricing is a bit higher in the market since it offers a full-blown WAF."
"Imperva charges us based on bandwidth, which is better than other vendors that charge us according to data transfer."
"The cost of this solution depends on the platform."
"It is a very affordable solution."
"It is expensive."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"For enterprise contracts you will be in touch with a dedicated account manager who will guide you regarding licensing."
