I use VulnCheck to check the threat and exploitation context of a vulnerability and prioritize the ones that are actively exploited or have a high risk of impact. This helps us focus on the most important vulnerabilities first instead of treating every vulnerability with the same priority.

In my opinion, the best features VulnCheck offers are its vulnerability intelligence, exploitation tracking, and risk-based prioritization. The exploitation tracking feature has helped my team because it helps us understand which vulnerabilities are being actively exploited or are more likely to be targeted. Overall, it helps us focus on the vulnerabilities that present the most immediate risk.

VulnCheck has impacted my organization positively by helping us improve how we prioritize vulnerabilities by giving us better threat and exploitation context. Instead of focusing only on severity scores, we can identify vulnerabilities that have a higher likelihood of being exploited. This helps us use our security resources more effectively and respond to higher risk vulnerabilities faster.

VulnCheck has helped us improve vulnerability prioritization and reduce the time spent reviewing a large number of vulnerabilities. We are able to focus faster on vulnerabilities with active exploitation and higher threat relevance. I do not have a specific organization-wide metric to share, but the main improvements have been more efficient prioritization and better context of remediation decisions.

VulnCheck could be improved with more detailed remediation guidance and easier integration with vulnerability scanners and ticketing systems. It would also be helpful to have more customization options for risk scoring and prioritization. One improvement I would like to see is more detailed context around the real-world impact of a vulnerability, along with clearer remediation recommendations. Better reporting and dashboard customization would also help teams communicate higher priority vulnerabilities more easily. Overall, making the workflow more streamlined would improve the day-to-day experience.

I have been using VulnCheck for 1.5 years.

I would say VulnCheck scales well because it is cloud-based and API-driven, so it can support growing volumes of vulnerability and threat intelligence data without requiring significant additional infrastructure. From my experience, it works well as the number of vulnerabilities and assets increases, and the API makes it easier to integrate the intelligence into existing security workflows.

The customer support is good.

We have seen a positive impact on efficiency, mainly through faster vulnerability prioritization. VulnCheck reduces the time spent manually researching exploitability and threat context for individual CVEs, allowing the team to focus on the vulnerabilities that need immediate attention. I do not have a specific organization-wide ROI figure, but the improved prioritization and reduced manual effort have been valuable.

My advice would be to consider VulnCheck if your team needs better exploit intelligence and more context for vulnerability prioritization. I would recommend integrating it with your existing vulnerability management and security tools so the intelligence can be used directly in the recommendation workflow. Also, start with a few high-priority use cases and expand after the team is comfortable with the platform.

I rate VulnCheck as nine out of ten because its vulnerability intelligence and exploitation tracking provide useful context for prioritizing risk. What keeps it from being a ten is that I would like to see more integrations, deeper remediation guidance, and more customization options for risk prioritization.

I think VulnCheck's AI capabilities have a good approach to governance and security, especially since vulnerability and threat intelligence data can be sensitive. From a SOC perspective, I would want strong access controls, data protection, and clear visibility into how AI-generated recommendations are produced. Human validation is still important before making major remediation decisions.

I find the EVI index useful because it adds more context to a CVE beyond the standard severity score. I find Scanless Exposure Insight useful for getting an initial view of potential exposure without running an active scan. It can help us quickly identify systems or vulnerabilities that may need attention and prioritize for the investigation. This is especially helpful when we want faster visibility without adding scanning activities to the environment.

VulnCheck has improved efficiency mainly by reducing the manual effort needed to research CVEs and determine their exploitability. My rating for this review is 9 out of 10.

Over the year and a half that I have been dealing with VulnCheck, I have also worked with numerous similar solutions. I know the market and understand the similarities and what VulnCheck can do, what it cannot, and what other competitors offer within the field.

Essentially, what we are looking to accomplish with VulnCheck is to enable organizations to view vulnerabilities that exist within the cybersecurity landscape. I am taking this to partners to then sell to their customers, but their customers are simply looking for a way to sift through thousands of CVEs or new vulnerabilities. Traditional tools will just give you a long list. VulnCheck is an exploit intelligence platform that takes all that mass of information and then provides you with a clear view of the major vulnerabilities that need attention.

A partner or customer has used VulnCheck to take a load of CVE scores or vulnerability scores and then identify which ones are dangerous in the real world. It essentially indicates if a bug is dangerous, shows you how hackers are getting in, and where the attacks are coming from. This is facilitated by the IP intelligence feature, which gives contextualized data that matters because, at the end of the day, it can indicate how quickly a business can be breached or compromised. The core idea is simple, as it examines all different vulnerabilities and provides context to which ones have been found and how they can breach your organization.

I am focused on enterprise security teams and government critical national infrastructure, all collating data. What VulnCheck does is based on real-life exploitability and is continuously updated with intelligence to focus on what really matters. It does not generate a long list full of noise and is a very proactive solution.

In my opinion, the best feature of VulnCheck is the vulnerability intelligence piece, which enriches vulnerability data beyond just standard databases. It provides context regarding the validity of exploit availability and the attacker's activity. Essentially, it can answer the question: Is this bug dangerous? Could it breach us in a real-world attack? Another valuable feature is the IP intelligence, which identifies attackers' infrastructure, specifically the command and control servers, showing where the attacks are originating from.

Our customers and partners typically use the IP intelligence feature by employing AI and ML to find, connect, and prioritize signals indicating that a vulnerability is being exploited. It is not a single model; it is a pipeline of data collection with enrichment and scoring, and I also utilize AI extraction. This is where AI kicks in to highlight what is vulnerable, providing a kind of correlation.

I would probably say that the main feature of VulnCheck is its ability to cut down all the noise and provide a scoring of how you are going to get attacked and breached. It then utilizes intelligence to show you where the attacker is located.

VulnCheck needs improvement in terms of data. It is primarily an intelligence and data layering system and not a complete vulnerability management platform. This means that it lacks native patch workflows, so you do not have asset discovery as you would with Tenable or Qualys. You will require other tools to act on the data that you find, which necessitates engineering time for API integration, data mapping, and tuning. Additionally, not all exploit signs are clear; some can be noisy or ambiguous, so teams need to apply their judgment. Finally, the time to value is not instant; it requires integration, workflow changes, and team training.

I think VulnCheck is an excellent tool and valuable data resource. However, if you wish to send alerts via an API to platforms like Rapid7 or Tenable VM, you will need to integrate that with a SIEM solution to perform any kind of risk management.

I have been using this product for a year and a half. 

Although I do not have the exact numbers for VulnCheck, I can categorize the ROI into three buckets: preventing breaches, which is the most significant value; faster detection, which translates to real savings; and operational efficiency, which is often hidden but represents a real ROI. The average breach costs around five million, and incidents can be stopped by monitoring vulnerabilities on a daily basis. VulnCheck detects exploitable vulnerabilities days to weeks earlier than alternatives, with customer detection averaging just under six and a half days sooner than most competing products, resulting in an estimated $145,000 risk avoided per incident and about $700,000 risk avoided.

VulnCheck has shifted the mindset within my organization and my partners from a reactive to a more proactive approach. By contextualizing vulnerabilities and understanding how people get breached, VulnCheck gives us the ability to adopt a proactive mindset rather than a reactive one. More often than not, a reactive approach leads to responding to breaches instead of being on top of vulnerability management.

I would definitely recommend looking into VulnCheck as a solution.

I think it is a really good tool to find vulnerabilities and help identify what is exploitable within your infrastructure. However, if you are seeking something to manage or take action on your vulnerabilities, you will still need a vulnerability management tool or a SIEM solution to facilitate any actions. Overall, it is an easy-to-use tool that provides simple ways to view risks without much noise.

VulnCheck serves as our primary vulnerability management platform for managing organizational vulnerabilities. VulnCheck is exceptional because it provides not only CVE listings of exploited vulnerabilities but also known exploited vulnerabilities, referred to as KEV, enabling us to assess ransomware associations and proof-of-concept availability. This allows us to ensure that our EPSS score is reliable and receive notifications for any vulnerabilities that are globally exposed.

As a vulnerability management tool, VulnCheck scans our on-premise environment and cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS. It provides comprehensive results of all vulnerabilities present on our endpoints, servers, hosts, or network devices. VulnCheck also provides the initial CVSS score for all vulnerabilities, which is later elevated to EPSS scores based on breaches recorded worldwide, including known exploited vulnerabilities, ransomware associations, proof-of-concept availability, and attacker activity in the environment. We conduct these local and hybrid scans throughout our organization and prioritize the vulnerabilities for remediation.

We have scheduled scans during our downtimes on Sundays and Saturdays, allowing us to receive comprehensive updates regarding vulnerabilities across our public cloud and on-premises environments. This approach ensures reliable updates and visibility on vulnerabilities, where VulnCheck's scans are quick and efficient, unlike Rapid7, which often fails to accurately scan cloud resources.

VulnCheck has positively impacted our organization. Initially, we had thousands of vulnerabilities on the server side. After introducing VulnCheck, we constantly monitor the vulnerabilities and the EPSS score, which updates based on real threats associated with existing vulnerabilities in the market. This has enabled us to identify, correlate, and find solutions to upgrade our systems, servers, hosts, and network devices, ensuring everything is up-to-date and secure from potential attackers. Therefore, VulnCheck plays a crucial role for us, and the reporting is clear and to the point, making the major vulnerability patching process simple and efficient.

Before using VulnCheck, our vulnerability count exceeded 4,000, but after three to four months of using it, we are down to just hundreds, which represents the major improvement we have seen on the server level. The endpoints and network devices are managed effectively because we can reboot and patch them as needed.

The best features VulnCheck offers are the feasible scans it provides and the local and hybrid scans that are very helpful for gathering vulnerability details and prioritizing the exploits or vulnerabilities happening worldwide. Additionally, the comprehensive exploit intelligence, including all the POCs and ransomware associations, stands out. The detailed descriptions of all present vulnerabilities along with emerging threats, well-documented details, and frequent updates of threat intelligence contribute significantly to reducing the remediation workload by prioritizing the vulnerabilities that matter most.

VulnCheck is an emerging next-generation AI-implemented vulnerability security tool, and its governance and security capabilities are impressive. The AI capabilities enhance the EPSS scores, making them more specific and helpful for prioritizing remediation. VulnCheck is a reliable tool that supports multi-tenancy and multi-cloud environments, with effective scans for both on-premises and cloud assets. It is essentially a one-stop solution for all vulnerability management needs.

VulnCheck outputs are very consistent, with a level of precision in outputs, and the remediation status for vulnerabilities is immediately actionable as soon as we complete remediation. The stability of daily vulnerability intelligence operations is maintained, with a consistent threat integration feed and API responses delivering smooth updates.

Regarding improvements needed for VulnCheck, there are not many areas, as the pre-built integrations with common vulnerability scanners and SIMS are seamless. Integration with ITSM ticketing tools is also quite good. However, it would be beneficial to have more customizable dashboards and executive-level reporting, as well as improved visibility into vulnerability remediation.

I chose a rating of nine for VulnCheck because some parts, such as the implementation aspect and the patch remediation trackers, are lacking. Additionally, VulnCheck could benefit from providing simpler executable dashboards and more conceptual insights, potentially taking references from Rapid7 for the reporting and remediation project areas.

VulnCheck scales exceptionally in our organization, regardless of size. As an AI-driven and cloud-hosted tool, it integrates efficiently with enterprise vulnerability management workflows and supports a large number of assets and vulnerability records without needing additional infrastructure.

We have not engaged with VulnCheck's customer support because we already use multiple vulnerability tools. However, others have reported positive responses and helpful documentation available regarding various reports missing in the tool.

Before utilizing VulnCheck, we used Rapid7 InsightIDR. Switching to VulnCheck is cost-effective and reliable, using VulnCheck intelligence for risk-based remediation instead of merely prioritizing vulnerabilities by CVSS score. We continuously monitor newly published KEVs and exploit intelligence for timely risk management, highlighting significant improvements in risk-based vulnerability management and efficient remediation processes.

We previously used Rapid7 due to scanning issues, but after switching to VulnCheck, our operations have improved considerably. Pricing for VulnCheck is more favorable compared to Rapid7.

Since using VulnCheck, we see a significant return on investment as we no longer spend excessive time on scanning, which was an issue with Rapid7. VulnCheck provides a solid security vulnerability management solution that allows SOC analysts to work more efficiently without wasting time.

I do not have visibility on the pricing, setup costs, and licensing for VulnCheck, as only higher management is involved in those decision-making processes.

I have completed everything regarding my main use case and any unique ways I use VulnCheck in my environment. I have added all the points regarding VulnCheck. If you are looking for a one-stop solution for vulnerability management that offers lower costs and superior visibility into vulnerabilities, then VulnCheck is the right choice. VulnCheck is a really good tool, but it could be improved with a more user-friendly dashboard and also with more detailed vulnerability context.

I would like to see more out-of-the-box integrations, such as integration with SIEM, EDR, and also with any ticketing platform, while alert customization could also be better, with more flexible severity and notification rules. For reporting, a more customizable dashboard and trend-based reports would be useful for both the SOC team and management.

It is overall really good, but there is a little bit of improvement lacking in the UI and the integration, which is why I took off that one point.

This reduces manual effort and speeds up prioritization. The clear prioritization based on risk is probably the biggest day-to-day benefit. Instead of handling hundreds of vulnerabilities equally, we focus on actively exploited ones, internet-facing assets, and critical systems, which helps us reduce the noise and focus on what really matters.

The most important features—exploit intelligence and prioritization—have the biggest impact on real life. In our organization, the biggest impact is that exploit intelligence and knowing whether a vulnerability is actively being exploited changes how we spend our resources. It helps reduce the noise from vulnerability scans by focusing on what really matters.

VulnCheck's UI and reporting can be improved for better visibility. More customization in dashboards and reporting would be helpful for management-level insights.

My main use case for VulnCheck is vulnerability checks, which allows us to check what vulnerabilities we have in our dependencies, ensuring we are on the latest versions of the dependencies we are using in the code, and it also manages the CVSS score.

The primary use case of VulnCheck is to enhance our vulnerability management by helping us identify vulnerabilities that are already actively exploited. For example, the CVSS score of Log4j, which is a well-known vulnerability, can be easily detected across all modules and potentially entangled between different modules. These are critical scenarios as we prioritize our remediation efforts based on exploit intelligence rather than relying solely on CVSS scores.

When VulnCheck flagged the Log4j vulnerability, it provided an alert to the security team, which was handed over as a Jira ticket. We fixed it right away. It was not a production issue because production had a version without that CVSS score, but the vulnerability was real and we checked everything behind the VPN.

I use VulnCheck for vulnerability checks, as we prioritize vulnerabilities across the entire infrastructure, allowing our security team to focus on critical risks, reducing remediation time by presenting everything on one page and improving the overall vulnerability management system.

VulnCheck offers helpful endpoint security, providing centralized visibility and enabling us to automate incident response effectively, translating that to the actual team responsible for fixes. Additionally, we really appreciate its backup and disaster recovery features and commendable network access control.

The biggest benefit of automated incident response with VulnCheck is reducing overall time in identifying and solving problems right away, which has reduced our mean time to recovery in scenarios where we need to identify vulnerabilities, as we already have complete information on the page to address the exact issue.
