My company colleagues and I use this antivirus solution. I am part of a company where I deploy solutions, and I also work in the IT department of that company. Therefore, I have chosen this antivirus over the one we used previously.
Delivers efficiency and agility with USB control limitations
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
As compared to multiple solutions I have used in the past, Heimdal is a very agile and lightweight solution.
We use Dropbox a lot, and the solution we had before was bulky and clunky with our computers. That's why we chose Heimdal, which is very lightweight and user-friendly.
What needs improvement?
One area where we lag is that, since we use everything from Heimdal, including XDR and other features, we also use the privilege manager feature called Elevation. What we lack is granular USB control.
We have an issue where we can only switch USB on or off. I want to whitelist specific devices in the network, which I currently cannot do.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution for about two years now.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service is high-quality support, so I would rate it nine because I have spoken to them multiple times. They have tried to address my problems as quickly as possible and provided solutions, so I would rate customer service as nine out of ten.

How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was easy for us. The setup is similar to any other antivirus solution we have used in the past, however, the rollout was very straightforward. The rollout to users and the maintenance and administration are quite easy.
What was our ROI?
In terms of ROI, we are getting returns both economically and in the deployment of time and money.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing, compared to what we had before, was quite economical. There was a difference of about twenty percent or something between the solutions.
What other advice do I have?
We invested about two days with the solution provider partner. We had to tweak it a lot for it to learn exceptions and other parameters. I think we took our time to implement it carefully. Initially, there were some issues with the rollout, as with any antivirus, it started quarantining files. We had to ensure it learned what to exempt and so on.
I would rate the solution at eight out of ten.
