My company uses BambooHR to store employee information, including contact information, schedules, language ability, etc.
In the past, we managed all this information using Excel. Switching to BambooHR made it easier to access the information. It's easier to use and share reports. I can allow people to do their own reports so they don't need to deal with HR. BambooHR puts everything into one place, so I don't have to comb through several Excel files to collect all the information I need to make a report.
BambooHR is accessible to users who aren't good with technology. If you don't have an IT background, you can easily find information about any employee.
It can also limit access to sensitive information. For example, I can restrict some information to the employees themselves. Payroll has specific access to see salaries and some personal information that they need for their jobs, but HR has full access.
The performance could be improved. When you save some documents, it takes longer to store them in BambooHR's systems than it used to. Something needs to be upgraded or fixed in the code. Alow, we provide services to other companies, so Bamboo isn't able to help us in many areas because of the way we work.
I would like the ability to use the performance appraisal for Bamboo no matter how many Bamboos I have. Furthermore, it should be easier to transfer an employee from one company to another. They have a feature now, but it's not helpful. We get a lot of errors when we move it from one Bamboo to the other.
I can download the information from company A and transfer it to company B, but I need to make three different downloads and upload them to the system. Sometimes, it doesn't work properly, and some information is missing. The information goes to different areas based on tags. It's much easier if you have a linked connection where you can take the same information and move it to the same place. All the Bamboos for the companies I use have the same formatting.

Every software becomes slower the more information you put into it. Our company has 300 people, but only about six use it regularly.
I rate BambooHR support eight out of 10. Sometimes, things aren't working the way I want, so I send them emails. They reply quite fast.

BambooHR is a SaaS platform. They give you a link and you share it with everyone who needs access. We recently opened some Bamboos, so we had to manually input all the employees in the database. However, if you have to create a new version for 100 employees, they assist you by sending you some Excel spreadsheets with what information you want to put in store in Bamboo so they can assist you in doing the first part.
When we started with Bamboo, we had around 300 employees, so I had to store all the information regarding our documents and extra information that we didn't provide to Bamboo. It took me three months and working eight to 10 hours on the weekends for 200 employees
I rate BambooHR six out of 10. There is a lot of room for improvement. Ideally, we can find a software solution that lets us work the way we need to work. I recommend it if you have experience with technology or you have someone who can show you how it works. If you're a person that isn't good with technology and you don't have anyone to explain it to you, I'm not sure if it's a good solution for you.
