What is your primary use case for TIBCO Spotfire?

Generating reports or reporting applications is the main use case for TIBCO Spotfire at United Airlines. Using operational data to generate dashboards for team reviews and for the leadership team is a specific example of a report or application I have built with TIBCO Spotfire.

We were trying to optimize production by approaching an in-house development, so we approached TIBCO Spotfire to use its platform by using Python and building an algorithm to optimize and forecast our production. That's what we have been doing. The main thing has been production and reservoir surveillance. We were working with OFM, Schlumberger software and we were using Excel and SQL to connect all the databases, but they run locally, so they were pretty slow. Since three years ago, the team has been working on Python as a very versatile platform to connect, for example, Petrel to Python. There are many geophysics that connect with Python interface, so that would be our main platform that could be competitive to TIBCO Spotfire because it's free. It depends upon your capability to code, but that's how the team has been working on.

I utilized TIBCO Spotfire ( /products/tibco-spotfire-reviews ) for its integration with R and later Python. This integration was a differentiator in the past. I visited Gothenburg several times for TIBCO Spotfire ( /products/tibco-spotfire-reviews ) perspectives, and it was used for analytical projects.

We mostly use Spotfire for analytics and reporting. It is used for auditing kind of decision making, mostly on the historic data. We do not utilize the real-time metrics.

Mainly, we've been using it for different reports and dashboarding purposes for different stakeholders, such as the cards business, the financial teams, and banking transformation. Depending on their use case, we have been working on different reports.

We use TIBCO Spotfire for business intelligence purposes, to analyze data, and to generate reports for our business teams. It empowers us to extract insights and provide valuable business analytics to support decision-making within our organization.

We provide services to other customers. We have multiple customers who are in the oil and gas industry. We use this software for managing clients' assets. Creating analytical dashboards on different datasets from Wales and various other datasets they have from their enterprise software. Everything is very well accumulated in one place using Spotfire.

I use TIBCO Spotfire in my company for finance-related purposes. Basically, we use TIBCO Spotfire to create dashboards for financial reporting, and with the dashboard, we manage data mining and similar kinds of activities in our company.

We use the solution to handle large datasets.

We utilize the solution for real-time analytics. We have some IoT devices connected to the dashboard, allowing us to view analytics related to the devices for our clients in the energy sectors. TIBCO Spotfire can be connected to the cloud or deployed on-premise. TIBCO also offers cloud servers for cloud deployment.

We use this solution to provide our customers with a data analytics platform.

I use this solution to handle business intelligence issues.

Spotfire is very powerful, especially for oil and gas, as it has a very intuitive and very strong UI. These are some of the use cases when you're doing normal analytics, reporting, or dashboarding. Then you can talk about some of the predictive analyses. You can talk about forecasting, you talk about banking use cases, and you talk about data time. All of that gels very well into extreme use cases of streaming analytics. You have streaming data coming in, and then you can populate data from Spotfire.

I work with a big bank in Azerbaijan. We have created a data warehouse and use TIBCO Spotfire. I have implemented this application in three banks. We primarily use it for processing. I have experience and I understand the technical requirements so that we can design any report or we can use SQL links, or Postgres, et cetera.

As a service company, we were using Spotfire for things like timesheet analysis for our own purposes. What was more important was that we were advising our corporate customers, chemical, oil and gas companies like Shell, Total, and Exxon about where they should use this tool and how to develop an application using it. I'm really on the service side and Spotfire was a tool that I could offer to my customers for delivering projects. In terms of use case, process data analysis would be number one. Then I'd say industrial performance dashboard, and lastly, problem root cause analysis.

My daily tasks are related to data mining and TBICO Spotfire is one of the products that I use. We are a small group of geologists operating in a niche area who are analyzing geochemical data. Our backend database is MySQL and we use products such as Power BI, Tableau, and Spotfire to display data for the geochemists.

We have two primary use cases. One is for the data exploration and the second is for deploying the dashboards for the specific business use cases.

At my previous company, I was both a developer and a software administrator. It was an upstream oil and gas company — exploration, drilling, and completion. Due to some financial issues (not being able to compete well in the market), they shut down their Houston office and laid off quite a few people.
