We are in the process of scaling our RPA capability. At this stage, we have about 15 Bots running with another 15 to be implemented in the next 2 to 3 months. We have found Blue Prism to have a good design studio and control room. The important considerations when scaling RPA is:
· The re-useability of the modules within processes. The design of the process is key and should be done in a modular manner so that components can be reused in other processes. BP does enable this.
· Scalability – we have not had any issues in terms of performance
· Scheduling – BP allows one to schedule multiple different processes per BOT. Hence we do not assign specific BOTs to specific processes or business areas. We use our array of BOTs to manage multiple processes across the business. For large processes, you may have multiple BOTs dedicated, however where you have a process that does not at any time consume the full potential of a BOT, it is important to have the ability to schedule the BOT to work on multiple processes. The ability to schedule and optimize the BOTs is important when looking at how to maximize your investment.

BP is good at server side automation and not so good at UI/surface automation, if you got multi-steps at server-side across multiple systems, BP could be your best friend. UiPath is usually better and an easier choice on cost and flexibility front.
