I have knowledge of both Forcepoint and Trellix products as a consultant. Although I am not a direct user of Trellix or Forcepoint, I used to be a partner for them. Some of my customers are working with Forcepoint and Trellix.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
My experience with Forcepoint DLP is that it is a good product, and customer feedback has always been positive. Trellix Behavior Analytics catches real-time behavioral data, including how the user is utilizing it and what path they are taking. The integration of Trellix IPS - Virtual is well integrated with other tools, which helps enhance my customer's network defense posture. Trellix Intrusion Prevention System - Virtual performs well overall as a product.
What needs improvement?
I am not familiar with Forcepoint Risk-Adaptive Protection for DLP. Trellix Intrusion Prevention System - Virtual needs to be more focused on the product line and should consider the current scenario of threats to provide better solutions for handling those threats frequently. There is room for improvement in first level support quality, and it would be great if they could help better with response times. In the future, I would like to see more updates and more frequent updates, as threats evolve rapidly and necessitate more frequent updates.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been dealing with Forcepoint products for approximately five years. I have been working with Trellix Intrusion Prevention System - Virtual for more than seven to eight years, and we are selling their endpoints, an IPS, and DLP.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Currently, we do not face any issues with Trellix technical support; the first level support is given by the partner, and the backend support comes from Trellix, making it sufficient.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Regarding IPS, Trend Micro and Trellix are the main competitors, and they are at par. As for pricing, I would say that compared with Trend, they are at par because mostly in this part of the world, the NIPS of Trend and Trellix are comparable, with Trend being priced higher in sales.
What other advice do I have?
While we have sold other Forcepoint products, percentage-wise, DLP is the highest one. I mostly deal with DLP because in this part of India, DLP is more in demand for Forcepoint. Trellix has DLP and an IPS, which is performing well. In India, we see mostly two companies in IPS, which are Trend Micro and Trellix. Trellix does have an Intrusion Prevention System, similar to an IDPS. Technology is something that needs to keep improving and upgrading. As far as DLP is concerned, I have always said that Forcepoint DLP is better than Trellix. Some of my customers are working with Forcepoint and Trellix. I provided this review a rating of eight.
