We use Riverbed Steelhead devices for WAN optimization, which saves us considerable money on our international bandwidth. It's particularly beneficial for optimizing bandwidth while connecting internationally between multiple international DCs.

Steelhead has drastically improved user experience. Users, even those far from the server location, experience performance as if the applications were locally hosted. This has optimized our MPLS bandwidth usage and overall network performance without requiring upgrades.
