Offers a single console to control all applications and URL filtering
I am satisfied with the malware detection capabilities of the solution. At our company, using the product we haven't found any incidents or threats that couldn't be easily resolved. Most of the customers of Trend Micro ServerProtect in our organization belong to the Healthcare industry. I have witnessed smooth integrations with Trend Micro ServerProtect. I haven't yet noticed any AI capabilities in the product. I would recommend others to adopt Trend Micro ServerProtect as it can be easily installed and managed. The product assists in administration. The solution is a perfect fit for the SMB segment. I would rate Trend Micro ServerProtect an eight out of ten.

Works wonderfully to defend endpoints against malware, ransomware, and malicious scripts
It would be much easier if the solution added the allowed USB for pen drives and USB drives. You can import an Excel CSV file with 500 devices, but it will be allowed globally. That would be helpful if you want to allow it only in one policy. If you want to enable these pen drives only for one group or an organization's security group, you have to add them manually one by one. That could be easier. It's a user experience, but you can add not just the serial but also the vendor. If you only have a Kingston pen drive, you can say that you want to allow all Kingston, or you can add the model number. If you know that you have a specific model of the Kingston pen drive, you can just allow Kingston and that model. The serial number is not important. You will not filter by serial number. However, if you want to filter by serial number and add only the given devices with the serial number, you have to add them one by one. You have to do this if you don't want to allow them globally. It's enough if you know that you bought a Kingston pen drive and you just put in that you want to allow the Kingston and the model number. Then, all pen drives of the given model will be allowed for a given security group on a given number of computers. In that case, you can attach only pen drives and no external hard drives from Kingston. That could be fast. If you want to add a given serial number, you add it one by one for a specific group. If you want to allow them globally, you say that everybody can use the pen drive on every computer. You can do it from a CSV. Let's say the CSV imports for security groups only and not company-wide. I think this is the more punctual way. If you want to allow it only for the security group or Active Directory group of users, you must manually edit it to limit the serial numbers. The solution's user experience regarding device control could be more friendly or straightforward.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are the anti-malware and antivirus capabilities."
"Scalable security solution with virtualization and virtual patching functions, able to provide full security that's specific to the service, e.g. it handles virtual machines better."
"Virtual Batching and the intelligent anti-malware components are valuable security tools."
"ServerProtect's best feature is virtual patching, which takes care of patching even if your servers aren't updated with the latest threat definitions."
"It can be managed from the cloud."
"Technical support was perfect."
"Performance is very good."
"The initial setup is very straightforward."
"Its reporting and dashboard are valuable. Its dashboard is easy to use."
"The ransomware protection and behavior monitoring features of Trend Micro Apex One are actually good."
"One of the better features, in my opinion, is that it also makes use of a web reputation. For example, if someone accidentally clicks on a link in an email that leads to a malicious website, they will block it."
"It's very good and efficient."
"The product has proven to be very flexible over the years that we have had it."
"The initial setup is not that tough. It's easy."
"The solution offers quick and timely updates."
"The initial setup was very straightforward."

Cons

"I would like to see SMS notifications sent as alerts, in case we do not have access to our email."
"Lacking analytics and a machine learning technique."
"One thing I have been facing is that some fake threats have appeared that even Trend Micro was not able to clear up. It couldn't tell you why these threats are happening, where they are coming from and what the costs are."
"Trend Micro is a little bit complicated when it comes to setting up special policies."
"There are a few areas of improvement. Despite its high performance, there are certain aspects related to the operating system that could be improved. Specifically, I find that the protection for certain actions requires more effort compared to other actions."
"The endpoint protection could always be stronger."
"The cost is very high and it should be lower to be more competitive."
"They need to improve in this area by providing more documentation and custom scripts for bulk enterprise deployments."
"I would like to have DLP features implemented into Vision One Security."
"I want more options and flexibility when creating rules. I want to set rules that are contingent, like "If this happens, then this, this, and this will happen.""
"The role-based access control needs improvement."
"Trend Vision One Endpoint Security should have a DLP (Data loss prevention) module."
"The only thing that I would like to see changed or improved in the next release is when it reports C&C callbacks, to make it easier to trace, to see what's doing that, whether it's a program checking for updates or a malicious program."
"We have had some false positives with One Endpoint Security's ransomware detection. We received an alert, but it wasn't a ransomware attack. When we did an investigation, we found it was only malware."
"The integration is lacking in Trend Micro Apex One. It does not integrate well with Microsoft p solutions. For example, with Office 365, we have to buy another solution for mail protection. That's why we are assessing Microsoft Defender 365 because we have an email from Microsoft, an endpoint from Microsoft, and we use Windows systems."
"This software could affect the performance of your device negatively, particularly causing slow performance after installation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is available at a reasonable price"
"Pricing is based on the components you choose from the suite to run in your installation. Costs vary by the number of features and the number of servers."
"This product has an annual subscription, but also offers MSP options."
"Pricewise, this product is okay."
"In terms of price, the solution is in the middle; it's neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. I rate it three out of five for cost."
"The price is reasonable."
"The license is expensive but it is a complete solution."
"From what I understand the pricing is not expensive for Trend Micro Apex One."
"Apex One is a bit expensive, but the additional AWS costs are limited. It's competitive compared to other solutions in the market. It's a good price for the functionality that it provides."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"Apex One has a high cost."
"The price of the solution is fine."
"Licensing costs depend completely on the number of users or licenses. They have a specific pricing structure. For example, if you are looking for 100 users to be on the product, in the Indian market (we're based in India), the cost is nearly $2,500 to $3,000 maximum for one three-year license."
