It's a complete solution package
When I go into the portal, I can see how many endpoints are enrolled or how many of them are active in place. I can see the current number of threats that are there in the organization. How many threats have been identified, etc. I can see which endpoint the critical events are coming in from a security aspect.

Customization capabilities allow clients to autonomously deploy policies
There are a few areas where Trellix Endpoint Security ( /categories/endpoint-protection-platform-epp ) can improve. Firstly, the high CPU utilization when agents are installed can negatively impact client systems. Another issue is with end-users outside the network, where the agent handler sometimes fails to deploy the product properly. Improvements are needed in forensic analytics to detect specific vulnerabilities. It would also help if detection specifics were identified more quickly and the problem-solving process accelerated, especially to meet larger clients' expectations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup was straightforward."
"It's a complete solution package."
"We like the management of the ePO, and we like the management console."
"There is a new feature where you can set thresholds for all the CPU consumption allowing for no consumption on the servers when the scans happen. It is a separate plugin or addon, and if we have it on all the virtual machines it automatically checks the resources, and based on that, it will schedule the scans. That is something that I have not seen in other antivirus solutions, such as Symantec."
"The most valuable features are the prevention layer that detects the signature value and prevents threats in the network."
"The most valuable features are reporting from the ePO console and the advanced threat protection (ATP)."
"The solution scales well."
"It can be deployed quickly, and it's scalable. Those are the two advantages of it."
"Trellix Endpoint Security offers robust access protection, addressing major concerns in prevention. It provides both application control and user access control within its access protection features."
"The solution is broken down into different components from the portals. Web filtering, which is an added feature has been great for us."

Cons

"We found limitations in the XDR's detections, lacking the ability to create customized detection and log parsing rules."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Technical support from the vendor is very bad."
"Trellix Endpoint Security needs some improvement in the dashboards. Artificial intelligence also requires improvement to further enhance the product."
"The solution should provide a more easy way to uninstall it on specific stations."
"Trellix lacked email protection when it was a McAfee product. They added this feature during the merger with FireEye, but it hasn't been fully integrated. The core features will be integrated into the next release. FireEye has several solutions for EDR and sandboxing."
"The solution's technical support should be improved since we faced a lot of issues with the support. There were some delays in responses from the technical support."
"If there's a possibility for remote assistance or investigation support in the future, it would be beneficial. Currently, we use another remote software for such purposes. If this feature could be included in the next version, that would be an improvement. The feature is called Remote Administration. I'm somewhat satisfied, but there's an issue I recently encountered. When attempting to scan a suspected host machine, Symantec Endpoint Security did not provide any alerts. However, when we installed Malwarebytes and ran a scan, it detected a threat that wasn't identified by Symantec. We raised this concern with the team for resolution, and the investigation is still ongoing."
"They can make it free, but that's not going to happen."
"The initial setup isn't so easy. You need to know what you are doing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is six out of ten."
"The price of the solution is in the middle range compare to others and could be reduced. There are not any additional costs."
"There is a one-year and a three-year license available for this solution, we are currently on a three-year license."
"Licensing is paid yearly."
"I do licensing on an annual basis and this is what I always recommend to my clients over the monthly option."
"I am happy with the pricing."
"The product is expensive."
"Trellix Endpoint Security is an inexpensive platform."
"I would rate the cost as four to five, considering it's normal compared to other products. I find it nominal and worth the money."
