A stable solution that offers WildFire analysis, but it is expensive than other products
The most valuable features of the solution are the lesser points of management and the WildFire analysis it offers SaaS Security by Palo Alto is more expensive than other products and could be a bit cheaper. I have been using SaaS Security by Palo Alto for the last six months. SaaS Security by…

Has improved data visibility and classification while supporting proactive security workflows
In my experience, the best features that Varonis Platform offers are data labeling, data classification, along with all the integrations and its easy-to-use platform. They have a really good setup, and their sales team and technical service are reliable; they hold monthly, weekly, and quarterly reviews, and they respond quickly to anything we need, which is not common among platforms. Varonis Platform has a big variety of integrations, and they continuously work on new updates and integrations, such as ChatGPT Enterprise and Zoom, ensuring that they meet any new needs that customers have, maintaining a roadmap for features that they constantly bring out. Since implementing Varonis Platform, we have noticed positive impacts in our organization. People are more careful when they go abroad, we have greater visibility, and it's very important for compliance to ensure we follow compliance rules, as we have some good reporting and the out-of-hours MDR service.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of the solution are the lesser points of management and the WildFire analysis it offers."
"The 24/7 support is the most valuable feature. They have been able to answer support questions pretty quickly."
"The analytics would have to be our most valuable feature."
"Varonis offers robust data access governance, allowing us to understand which sensitive data exists and who has access to it."
"I also appreciate the reporting feature, which allows for the extraction of various reports based on specific needs. These reports can be used for audit purposes, such as tracking changes in file locations or deletions."
"There's also a 90-day policy where if a user is not using the warehouse, it will automatically delete that username."
"The solution ensures that users have not accidentally shared sensitive information with the wrong people or too many people."
"On the Varonis side, technical support is phenomenal. Their ability to explain is very good, and they seem to be very knowledgeable. When I get an alert that doesn't quite make sense, they dive in there and kind of take me through it. That's very useful and very good. There are some false alerts, but it is better to have a false alert than no alert at all."
"Technical support from Varonis is rated as nine out of ten."

Cons

"SaaS Security by Palo Alto is more expensive than other products and could be a bit cheaper."
"The product is very complicated."
"One area for improvement is the calculation engine. When applying rules in Varonis, especially for large datasets (terabytes of data), the calculations can be slow and require time to process. Speeding up this process would be beneficial."
"I'd like to see automatic updates for this solution. Currently, it's a manual process to update all the keywords"
"It is significantly complex."
"There is one thing that if I add something manually, I get so many alerts. That's the biggest bad thing."
"It would be beneficial if the reporting in Varonis Platform could use PDFs instead of Excel for better graphs, as the dashboards are really good, and it would be nice to have simplified dashboards in PDF for business reporting purposes."
"Varonis requires more access permissions for its core functions compared to competitors, which can be a concern for companies about data safety."
"Be prepared that when you implement the product, you will have to tune it as you go."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It's expensive, kind of, really expensive."
"The pricing is good. It neither expensive nor cheap. It is average."
"Licensing is on an annual basis. Maintenance and renewal fees are separate. Varonis Datalert is quite expensive."
"You could do a subscription, where you pay yearly, or you could purchase it outright. The licensing cost is based on the number of users on the system that you are monitoring."
"Varonis Platform wasn't certainly the cheapest solution."
"The platform is expensive. I rate the pricing a nine out of ten."
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being the most expensive."
