Unified vulnerability management has strengthened credential defenses and improves risk-based decisions
I believe Unified Vulnerability Management can improve by emphasizing continuous monitoring, which necessitates a dashboard for users. Creating more mobility, especially since many incidents occur outside regular hours, would be beneficial. If anything goes wrong, a mobile version or mobile dashboard could be extremely helpful. Mobility is now a mandatory capability, allowing users to manage vulnerabilities through mobile applications. Beyond mobility for Unified Vulnerability Management, more flexibility is also required. For example, vulnerability scanners routinely scan and create reports. It would be beneficial if I could create a runbook so that if any unwanted events occur, it generates alerts and stops operations. This would create a complete package for secure posture and management, allowing me to protect not just through scans but also through prevention.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature I enjoy that is provided by this security analytics platform is the ability to measure resilience."
"The most valuable features are network mapping and configuration."
"RedSeal helps you prioritize and allocate your scarce human and capital resources where they have the biggest impact to protect your most-valuable digital assets."
"The most valuable feature of the product to me is being able to ask what-if questions about traffic flows, which is a great ability to have for security and incident response."
"The Vulnerability and Risk Management feature is valuable to us for keeping the security posture up-to-date and conducting regular continuous audits."
"Overall, I am very happy with the way the product is working."
"This solution is amazing! The most important part is the way it gives access information to the entire infrastructure, the network most importantly."
"RedSeal integrates the network and gives us a visual or graphical overview of our network. If an organization is geographically dispersed, for instance, with one office in Canada and one office in the Philippines, the whole network, including all devices, is integrated into RedSeal, and you can see from where the traffic is going in and out."
"For me, the most appealing aspect of Unified Vulnerability Management for a customer or potential customer is the functionality."
"In Unified Vulnerability Management, the best features include the ability to consolidate each and every device without dependency on other patch vulnerability management software, such as Qualys and SolarWinds, which have limited modules."
"Unified Vulnerability Management has centralized the process of identifying, assessing, prioritizing, remediating, and monitoring vulnerabilities across my organization's entire IT ecosystem through a single integrated platform and governance framework, making this the most significant advantage."
"Based on my experience, the visibility and zero trust that Unified Vulnerability Management provides brings the biggest benefit."
"Unified Vulnerability Management has positively impacted my organization by improving our response time to vulnerabilities significantly, reducing our average response time by 40% and delivering measurable improvements in our security posture."
"Unified Vulnerability Management gives a good overview and detailed visibility of all traffic, which allows me to easily find bottlenecks or issues."
"The best feature of Unified Vulnerability Management is that it never shows actual details publicly and provides different virtual information to those coming from outside the company."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in integrating the OT security part and the private 5G security part in RedSeal."
"One of the areas of concern is the GUI. It is important to our customers that the GUI looks beautiful. It's a Java Client, so you have a Java dependency."
"Initially their level one support was very frustrating to work with."
"Sometimes, it required us to refresh the configuration. When we integrated any of the configurations into the device, sometimes, it could not detect the exact picture of that device. So, we had to reset the device to see that if it was giving true-positive results or false-positive results. In some cases, we were not able to get true-positive results. There was some kind of bug in that version. Its interface is not user-friendly and needs to be improved. It takes time to understand the interface and various options. Skybox has quite a user-friendly interface. They could provide a feature for compliance audit policy if it is already not there. A compliance audit policy ensures that all configurations are based on the best practices standards, such as CIS benchmarks standard or other similar standards. It provides visibility about whether your device configuration is based on best practices or not. Usually, such a feature is provided by other solutions such as Meteor or Tenable Nessus."
"There is room for improvement regarding customization and automation of reports."
"Although we are talking about a very robust platform, I would like to see the Windows compatible VM version come back."
"The network mapping/visualization could be improved significantly."
"Integration with other security tools. Have the ability to create custom reports: Currently, within RedSeal you only have the option to run the canned reports."
"In Unified Vulnerability Management, the area that needs improvement is DNS-level security, which has been lacking for the last ten years."
"I cannot rate Unified Vulnerability Management in general from one to ten because I have not implemented the product."
"Improvements are necessary because Unified Vulnerability Management has been in the market for only seven or eight years, and a lot of improvement must be required for performance."
"More AI features would be welcome, and the price should be lower because it is becoming more expensive, and customers are already looking for alternatives because of the pricing."
"Customer support varies. After COVID, I find customer support lacking, and I am not sure why the principals do not prioritize it more."
"I believe Unified Vulnerability Management can be improved by refining its reporting capabilities."
"The negative side of Unified Vulnerability Management is that you need a skill set that is not readily available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is based on the number of endpoints and devices, and we have seen it range from mid-five figures to low six figures."
