Has enabled complex data flow management but faces limitations with modern integration needs
There are areas of Oracle SOA Suite I would like to see improved or enhanced in the future, particularly regarding its adapter capabilities. The popularity of Oracle Integration Cloud nowadays arises from its larger set of adapter capabilities, including numerous application adapters. In contrast, Oracle SOA Suite provides a limited number of adapters. I would like to see more REST-based features added to Oracle SOA Suite, currently lacking, along with an enhancement of file size or payload capability, as the existing limitation is a 10 MB payload size. Additionally, Oracle SOA Suite licensing cost tends to be higher, adhering to a fixed pricing model rather than a pay-per-use basis, which might not be suitable for smaller organizations.

Alerting precision has reduced incident response times and improved department-level network visibility
The auto-pause sensor during the maintenance window is good without any false alerts, and it prevents me from getting flooded with alerts during planned maintenance, helping department heads understand their own network usage better. It has reduced incident response time by giving clearer ownership of each alert, ensuring alerts go to the proper recipient. SNMP testers and auto-pause are among the best features of PRTG Network Monitor, which is particularly useful for different departments such as HR and finance, where alerts can be filtered accordingly. The alerting features and dashboard of PRTG Network Monitor are very helpful, especially in our industry. However, the dashboard can look cluttered on smaller screens, which is one negative aspect. PRTG Network Monitor has impacted us positively; we have stopped getting flooded with alerts during planned maintenance or unplanned outages. Compared to others, this gives specific alerts very quickly and helps department heads understand their own network usage better, thus reducing incident response time so that each alert has clear ownership.

PRTG is quite basic for this type of application monitoring, it'll give you some general metrics but what you're asking for is better done with Nagios, though its architecture and the information it provides won't give you the best metrics either. In this case your safest bet would be Zabbix, although both Nagios and Zabbix will steal a lot of your time until you can tune them to the detail lev...

PRTG is a network monitoring tool that uses SNMP protocol. You can configure weblogic server to use SNMP protocol to communicate with PRTG using agents. The same thing for Oracle ESB, by enabling SNMP traps in the Oracle Servcie bus. I think your business requirement as well as budget, will determine which monitoring tool you can use. I think all network monitoring tools, using SNMP traps, can do the job. Any SW or applications can build an SNMP traps to communicate with the monitoring tool. You can consult Oracle's manuals for more details. I hope this will be helpful. All the best, Ashraf Galal

Hi, I've no experience with PRTG, but you can find that on their site: http://www.paessler.com/oracle_monitoring I used to practice some time ago Nagios, on Linux boxes with web Logic, and it adapted well to our needs. I'm no longer experimenting with supervision tools as i switched to backup and storage. Regards E.Boutang
